I like the fact that Shinada is a weapons based character. I don’t usually use weapons that much, but since they have a character that’s skilled with weapons, it makes me utilize them more. If Shinada’s fists aren’t as helpful, then at least I can use weapons

I love the fact that Shinada is very much a "street fighter" kind of guy. He is very unconventional with his moves, downright brutal in the right places, will not hestiate to break any rules of a "respectable" fighter, and in the many ways he doesn't have strength, he has situational technique and merciless self defense skill to make up for it.

Glad I’m not the only one. I’m on my third play through of Y5 Remastered this time I have him almost maxed out and it’s crazy. The first two times I didn’t think I’d like his combat style. However once I started really leveling him up he became one of my favorites to use. Not the best or worst for colosseum either. However some fights in the colosseum I love using him in.

Personally, I'd argue Haruka's section is the worst section of 5, but that's sort of cheating. Cool as it was to have her in a leading role, the dance minigame got old insanely fast, right up until Akiyama saves the whole thing as a joke.

Tanimura is never even mentioned after Yakuza 4. There was a scandal involving his voice actor, who did drugs or something (Japanese people take that VERY seriously), so they changed his face and voice for the remastered game as well. Pretty much every other character is either mentioned or referenced but for Tanimura is like he never existed.

Kind of a bummer that we never got a confirmation of what actually happened to Tanimura. Apparently the scandal with his VA was after Yakuza 5 was released as well so it wasn't because of that, RGG just discarded him like an empty bottle of Staminan X.

After his name was cleared he quit voice acting as a reaction to his harsh treatment. When the remaster came rgg studios had to find someone else to redo Tanimura's lines and changed his model to be less like his original va.
