Don't forget the absolute dime he threw on the run to Ceedee to end the half. Only way Hurts can make it to a second read is if you give him combination depth routes to the same side of the field so he can see it all at once. Hurts isn't playing at a high level as a passer, it's being schemed simplistically so it's hard for him to make mistakes.

I'm 37 years old, been a cowboys fan since I was old enough to sit and watch the 90's teams put it all together with my dad and brothers. Watched a lot of disappointing postseason efforts from this team since '96. This was a big time win, and all credit where it's due. But Dave nailed it right on the head when he said, "This was a statement that the cowboys' ceiling is the highest in the league. Can they do it consistently?" To all the "real" cowboys fans, let's be "real". As Dave said, their biggest problem in 27 years has been consistency. Sure they just showed they can do it in November against a good team. Let's see it carry into December, January, and hopefully February. Until that happens, I'll take the win with reservations, happy that they accomplished the task at hand while I can watch them play, and hopeful they get back to being consistently good in the post season.

Point made about winning games you're supposed to and expect to win is what separates and truly identifies great teams that win championships. That was the case during the old days, Green Bay in the 60s, Cowboys & Steelers in the 70s, SF 49ers & Washington in the 80s, and Cowboys in the 90s, even the Patriots of the early 00s. Remember, all these teams just mentioned played before the current salary cap & free agency era started. Nowadays most teams on great runs lose games they were "supposed" to win because the NFL is pretty even and wide open due to salary cap and free agency. Great teams win "suppose -to" games and win deep run playoff games and championships on a consistent basis over a long period of time. Now these days there is no such thing as a "great" team. They're only great one year then flame out the next. Because of free agency and the salary cap those days are long gone.
