Best driving simulator. That sense of speed is unmatched. Looks more grounded in reality than other games with excessive motion blur, vignette and camera shake. BeamNG focuses on tire noise, wind noise and minimal blur to enhance what's already good.

it always was the best racing sim, it has zero room for error. if they can get the MP aspect worked out way better, this could be the most unforgiving racing simulator ever used. no more taking out your opponents in a 24hr race without severe consequences, just like IRL.

This isnt a car simulator. Its a crash simulator and the car is set to be super squishy. And the physics aren't even realistic. Assettocorsa and GT has better physics than this game

I can't really agree about it being underrated. It is more popular than any other racing sim on PC. It definitely also has the attention of a lot of simracers with its potential. But it is also lacking in certain key areas, like tyre modelling and aerodynamics. These aspects are some of the key parts why it isn't regarded as the top sim racing title. Of course it lacks other gameplay elements to be up there, along with official multiplayer. But it has a bigger dev team than any other sim, apart from iRacing which still has more people. But they also need to fill roles which Beam doesn't due to the lack of services iRacing offers. Beam is definitely on the course to be a major player in the simracing scene, and racing games in general.

@@pashabiceps95 Yea that is just completely false. I mean let's start with an easy one with the fact that BeamNG doesn't yet simulate tyre temperatures or wear. Other sims do that. Drafting is also not a thing currently. There is more of course but those are very obvious ones without any nuance. It is the number 1 in certain areas. But like i said it lacks features to make it a top track racing sim.

The engine for this game is so flexible that the developers can't just drop everything at once without ensuring parity for every system out there. They said it themselves that this software will take years to develop due to how ambitious it is. If I mention the plethora of things this software simulates as opposed to other games out there you'd budge. I'm sure you're aware it's way beyond a soft-body physics simulator.

@@namesii1880 A lot of other racing games are truly truly scripted and those with eyes can see it clearly. This one not even close. This engine is flexible enough to be a boat, flight and car simulator all at once. The fact that there's mods for flying should give you a clue that the underlying mechanics are there although not to developers standard of quality.

bruh I've bought this game a few hours ago and had a blast on this level and in rock crawling. Will buy a wheel just for this game. This does everything better than lot of different games united, and ground textures are simply photorealistic here. Suspension work is awesome as everything else. This game is the root of something huge and I feel like I've missed so much during all those years not paying attention to it :)
