The Texas Longhorns were dealt a gut punch over the holiday weekend as 5-star WR Dakorien Moore announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. Why did the Longhorns come up short? Does Texas still have the chance to flip Dakorien Moore before National Signing Day in December? Where do the Longhorns go from here for the Class of 2025? Recruiting Insiders Jordan Scruggs & Collin Kennedy debate.

Dudes.. ur own Podcasters have clearly stated that through their sources that texas offered more than oregon did.. and these channels are texas footballs top channels... so maybe reporting in rumors and conjecture is kinda irresponsible reporting maybe?.. and I dono if u know this.. but oregon had 2 1200 yard receivers last season... sounds kinda nice if I'm a receiver.. ya feel me?

Texas’ offer according to Texas insiders, was more than Oregons offer from Oregon. Also, I looked at the family in Austin, which is his mom’s family…aka, not his own siblings or parents as possibly a negative, and I’ll explain why. If you look at the amount of family he had there, he would literally never have any time to himself, or to hang out with his friends, or teammates. They would constantly be asking him for tickets and gear also, and it just wouldn’t be that fun to be tied down to family almost every weekend. And as far as Oregon is concerned…he scheduled 5 visits in 6mths, after Oregon lead the 2023 regular seasons the #1 passing offense…after having two 1000yd WRs. I’m from Eugene, but I’ve live a bunch of different places, and travelled all over the USA…and Eugene is a unique place. The people are extremely open minded and that’s why there’s some wierd people in Oregon. But as my black friends have said, it’s a great place to live, with almost no racism, which is noticeable when you go to other states all over the country. It’s just an amazing place if you want a low key lifestyle. But all that was to say, he really liked Oregon, and it was not about the money, since Texas offered more than Oregon did.

You guys have some absolute BS “facts” Oregon spends less per athlete on NIL…it is true that Nike and others in their collective are organized and have plans to build the athlete’s brand. That is some sour grapes on your part. Nobody spends more on NIL than Texas. It’s called Google, you guys should try it before embarrassing yourselves with stupid lies. Texas NIL collective #1 Oregon is #19….maybe, just maybe the kid wanted to forge his own legacy. everybody that wants to contend is spending money. Sort yourselves out.

Moore saw our practices, he saw our receiver unit..He knew he wasn't going to start right away..He likes the spotlight I think..Collectively means nothing!! @@inhouseatx dude you are speculating with nothing, and I mean nothing, to back up the amount you said he got paid. Sounds like and excuse as to why Oregon is taking kids out of UT’s back yard. Same thing was happening to USC long before NIL. Kids want to play there and they have the best facilities in the nation.

@@inhouseatx you think he thought he was going to come in not have to compete? Lol…I will put Oregon’s average WR recruit rank against Texas’ any day and they would be smoked. 🤣….Oregon has the best room in the country according to PFF. And most other analytical sites have them 1 or 2 with Ohio State. You’re talking on emotion and not facts clown. Moore said he wanted to blaze his own path. And Oregon’s RB coach’s dad is a coach with Duncanville HS who also has a relationship With Oregon OC Will Stein who played and coached HS football in Texas. The first rule when you find yourself in a hole is to quit digging. Just stop, you’re embarrassing yourself.

You are under-sellling The culture, the community of Eugene is 100% dedicated to Oregon sports, the facilities are second to none, they are cutting edge in everything. Uncle Phil has spent $934,000,000 on facilities, with more to come. NIL collective is the best organized of any in the country. The state is beautiful with the coast 70 miles from Eugene. Whats not to like? You have an outstanding young coaching staff with an outstanding head coach. They just finished the best track stadium and facility in the world. It is good to be a Duck fan.

Yea. In the long run just imagine being the receiver catching passes from Manning. You know everything Manning does next year will be reported. We have been doing a good job getting top transfers. If you ask me the transfers provide more in the short term because they have proven to be good. I would save the money and keep it balanced. Pay the O-line and D-line and we should be good.

If it’s only about money. Why doesn’t Oregon get every 5 star player if it’s ONLY about money????? There are other things at play. Their future coaches plays a part. One thing people are forgetting, Lanning has proved he’s not interested in leaving Oregon. That’s huge in the eyes of a recruit. Another factor, the location of where these recruits will be living for the next 3-5 years plays a role. Eugene Oregon is beautiful. An hour from the ocean. An hour from the snow capped mountains. That maybe very appealing to some recruits. Good Lord people, you all are adults!! Learn to frik’n cope!!

When NIL came about, tx fan said they had more money than god and no one would compete. NIL is now a sobering reality. Now it's we aren't going to spend that. Personally, I completely agree not to pay players the amounts Nike is dishing out. Maybe you pay that amount IF they sign a contract to play 3 years and cannot enter the portal. End of the day, NIL combined with transfer portal is not good for college athletics.

You two are discussing possible million dollar deals, yet Moore's NIL eval is 599,000. Yes, Uncle Phil has donated Much money to his Alma-Mater the University of Oregon. NIKE also donates to other colleges and their players as well. Many teams in College Football have NIL Collectives with Wealthy Benefactors. Uncle Phil is NOT the ONLY reason Players Commit and play for Oregon. Is it the only reason anybody commits anywhere?? NO!! who is paying for Sanders, Sanders, Hunter, and Seaton at Colorado, three are in the top 20 for NIL Evaluation and all four in the top 37?! Ohio State has 9 possibly 10 in the top 100, Alabama has 8 payers in the top 100. THE BIG kicker here is Oregon has 4 and Dakorien Moore is 90th on the list. As much as you hate to say it. Your argument has ZERO Merit.

If this is the case they made the right move. He would be coming for the wrong reasons and this would just cause issues with existing WR. I think Sark has said that NIL deals are lucrative and available but won't be the selling point to players and I think that's the correct stance to have. That said there really needs to be some sort of cap or rules in place but what I have no idea.
