You can make good power cheap out of those 360 magnums, dodge really nerfed those things from the factory. VRP modded intake, ported TB, injectors, headersand exhaust, a cam and a tune and they'll make 400hp. Add the huges ported heads and you'll see 500+. And it's not fair to compare an RT to a lightning, as the lightning had a supercharger, 100 more HP and was $10k more from the dealer. The RT was an every man's affordable muscle truck.

The Dakota looks better sounds better and with just a few upgrades can whip on many many trucks I'd pick it over any Chevrolet truck

Dakota would mop that silverado with a couple mods silverado has more horsepower stock then the dakota, Rt did good for having less power

My old 98 R/T stock with exhaust and k&N intake would hit high 14's all day. Always pulled those Silverados. My black 02 R/T outran a ss trailblazer on the highway from about a 50ish pull.

Tbh the Dakota was running a heavier tires you did mention 22inch viper wheels those rims compared to stock ones weight quite a bit. Not bad at all though. Pretty crazy it's spun them still causing you to lose some time there

01' quad cab 4x4 sport, Have a redone throttle body, intake, and not much else and I can still womp a few newer trucks out there. Lots of gear kinda weighs me down but... Love my DoDak

I'm sure the spinning did contribute to it, I don't know about 2 sec though. The Silverado spun also.

Maybe... They both spun quite a bit. I will say the Dakota has a much better tire on it than the Silverado does.

A single cab Dakota might be a better comparison but I wouldn't trust off the street times like that. I've tried the obd MX+ scanner on my rt, it gave me results from 13.5 up to 15.9 quarter mile. On the same stretch right when she was just getting hot. Pulls felt the same but obviously something isn't reading right. I don't know what my 8th mile was but I only got dual plane manifold, shorty headers, TB, and a flowmaster. I don't think I got much out of it all. Past 3500 she pulls better but it's still dying off like a stock 5.9. I think I got 15-20 HP at most. I obviously every single engine isn't putting out the same numbers but it runs good. I've got a single cab so that may be why I feel it runs that way but I can't be certain. Nice race tho, I'm not familiar with the Chevys but I know they have more top end and a little more rpm.

Dakota for trifecta of sound show and go! Its a classic and I would love to see it with all 3 balanced attributes. The Silverado can be a flat out performance machine, but it will never lean out on looks compared to the Dodge. 500+ hp will make a nice offset though LOL!

Should have taken them to the track to race the clock. 2 TOTALLY different trucks. Mid size and full size. I had a Dak r/t and a siverado same body style. Wish I still had the chevy for sure

Yea, I looked it up after I made the video. All the Dakota RT's came with 3.92 in them.

3.92 LSD with tracklock I believe.
