Dakota SCT Run

5.2 auto 4x4 club cab pretty much all stock cold air intake,exhaust dumped after cat. 32in bfg's to slow me down. This was just a quick first test on 91 tune. This weekend ill do it again with 180 Tstat and my exhaust put back on to see if it helps on bottom end. Ill also do a 93 tune test too.

The reason it got louder is because the sct advanced the timing where the deathflash took it away

9 seconds, not bad considering it's a simple flash tune and he has 35s on the wheels. Stock or better tires and he could get it down to 8 flat or possibly lower if he had the NV3500. Really not bad at all for 230hp and weighing almost 5000lbs

This truck would be really happy with a moderately sized turbo and a conservative tune (10 psi at most)

There are years where ram,dakota and durango shared the same dash style. Rams had a little bit bigger dash but the dakota and durango where smaller versions

chef, guess you never drove an old 318. considering at the time of this video the truck was already 13 years old. And in 98 this motor made 230hp to the crank so prob more like 180 to the wheels. Add in a 5k lb truck and yeah that’s what you got, a not so fast truck. Did they run good for their time period, sure. Are they fast in today’s world, no. There are 4cyls out there now putting more hp down.

@@dodgeramguy85 no no i drive a 99 dodge 1500 with the 318 5 speed that's why I said that mine is pretty fast for a 90's truck you slam on it and it pushes you back in the seat

A healthy stock 318 with a 4 speed auto will do an 8.8 second 0-60

@@finaldrivetv3669 the autos rob a lot of power and the 5 speed has better ratios. A 5 speed swap will wake up a tired old auto truck

+Yamaha Rider Timing,fueling and shift point from 4,800 to 5,200 which the shift point doesnt seem like it would change that much but I noticed it helped a lot!
