There is an old tale in India where if you get a coin from a Transgender and if you keep that coin in a wallet, that particular wallet will never become empty and by their blessings money will always find a way back into the wallet. But, seriously, the melas, the fairs/gatherings like Kumbh are an incredible mashup of beliefs, lifestyles, rel./spiritual pursuits...and the spirit of pilgrimage. It is the ordinary folk and their devotion that sustains such gatherings. Kind of like Burning Man by the river maybe 😂
