Ahh the memories of all night fishing, swimming in the pool and playing on the swings in the park, the moth fete, the little train, the braai area the guys who used to sell candy floss in the bags and the guys selling ice cream on their bikes and of course the putt putt golf. We spent many a happy days at the lake as kids. Its a place I really miss now that we are in the UK. Thanks for the memories :)

No, it was unused for several years and a real eyesore and then demolished to build some sort of African restaurant, that also proofed to be a corrupted setup and now there is just plain nothing

You took the words out of my mouth. Lived here in the mid to late 70's before coming back to the U.K. and remember all those things so well, along with Florida Primary School and playing pinball in Johnny's on Goldman Street. I'm now much older than my parents were back then, but the lake and pool don't seem to have changed at all. Sad to hear about the Putt Putt going. It was a treat when we were taken there. This video brought back all those memories - thanks for posting!
