@@DBMG5 Zoning depends on the game, in Street Fighter it's par for the course and has a lot of play based around fireballs for example, in Mortal Kombat though? So many characters have dashes, teleports or just straight projectile blockers to deal with it. Dale does no combos. He's playing a grappler, (Someone who uses grabs) as a ranged character, it's cheap, it's beaten by a skilled player and he's not going to improve, he's only going to beat less skilled players with it. She's right to call him out because he'll plateau, he won't be able to get any better whilst he needs the shurikens as a crutch to win.

Not really. Not to people that really play fighting games. It's an archetype/game play style. For instance, you have grapplers, zoners, footsies, set up /set play and Rushdown. Those are the basics and sometimes you have hybrids of these. Only noobs complain about zoners because they aren't good enough to get around it. I personally like Rushdown but will play differently depending on which character I use. I main JP in sf6 which is a zoner and scorpion in mk1 which is a footies/set play character. Zoning is not bad or scummy inherently, but this guy is just bad at the game and he's playing against other people who aren't too good either or are new players.
