Ridiculously pristine trophy car!!! Been saving for my first Corvette 10 years. Got her. 1981 all original. 74k. 4spd. White/blue cloth. Equipped with all factory options. 190 hp. Fine by me. Shes a cruiser. Take daughter for cheeseburger and ice cream! Had her transported from Texas to new York state where I live. Now I gotta learn how to drive her!!

Hi Joe, I had a 69 C3 with an L88, but my favorite was my C2 1967 roadster with my built 427 back in the day. Good times with my dad back then. Cheers Dale

@@DaleWalkerHoleshot I love the look of the C2s almost as much as the C3, especially the older style cockpit interior. I'm 6'5'' and feel the C3 has more legroom and headroom than the C2... It's still a little tight, but I can drive a long stretch without issue. Mine is a original 427 BB 390HP convertible.

Sage, Im working on my 08 Tioga class C motor home, and until its out of my way I cant do that. It will be awhile, but I want to do that video also.. My mom just passed away, so its very sad family time for us right now also. DW

Hi Papo, My dad Ray and I raced Corvettes when I was a kid. He had a few bad ass C3 big block street cars, so this reminded me of him with every turn of my wrench. My favorite is the 1967 C2 Big block cars. I restored two of those years ago. Cheers Dale

Dale - Our Tastes Are Very Very Similar. the ‘80-‘82 Corvette is Still my Favorite ‘Vette Model(s), Except for any Silver ‘63 Split-Window Stingray. My Dad Bought an Ice Blue ‘82 in ‘89 & He Still Has It...the Next Owner Will Be Me. You Did One Hell of a Job with this C3, but I’m Worried That You Took a Major Shot to the Head & that Gave You the Idea of Getting Rid of Her. The Wheels Are Perfect, too. I Hope You Recover from the Near-Fatal Head Trauma before She’s Sold, because I’d Choose Your ‘Vette over an ‘Anything Goes/Whatever I Want’ Evening/Life with Gwyneth Paltrow.

My hood was a one off I did myself with my painter. Grafted a L88 scoop to the original 80 hood. It was allot f work but it turned out sweet.

Beautiful vette, bro. I would love to test drive it. Mine was an '82 collection edition. Beautiful, but, sloooo. It had the seize fire,er,cross fire engine & the ONLY trans,4 speed overdrive. Cool G.T. Nice long trip travelers. C-3, many folks agree was the most beautiful STILL.

How wide are the rear wheels? And these fit stock? I have a 1980 as well that's all stock but I never see more than an 8 inch wheel when looking for wheels for it, which isn't very big.

18 x 10.5 and they wont fit all stock. The car has to be at the proper ride height and the e brake cables mount moved to the top of the trailing arms. The wheel offset needs to be spot on, and even then I ran a narrow spacer along with ET lug nuts. Not a big deal but it took allot of dinking around to get them in there, with the stock fender lips and no rubbing. I now have plenty of clearance with this set up. Cheers Dale

Hey Dale, you still around man. I watch and go to Mecum when it comes here to houston close to me, cant help but notice how they are literally giving the late model c3's away, a practically new one with 20k miles is 10-12k. I'm thinking i need to buy one, cant hardly buy a damm 4 wheeler for that, but i couldnt live w 200hp and being picked on by stock pickup trucks. I know GM performance sells motors ready to go, at pretty much any hp you want, sb, bb, they must have 100 different choices. So i figure if i can get the car for 10 that gives me a ton a room for a motor, and i love big blocks, so why not just buy a built bb with 600hp from GM and drop it in. I know trans will need going through thats a gimme, but wondering what other problems i would encounter going this route vs SB, a 600 horse BB is mild, but at least i'd be in the game, and it fits right in there. It would either be that route or a modern 6.2, if i were rich i would just buy the LSX and go that route but damm they proud of that thing, but you would sure have something then, i think 700hp is easily obtainable with that motor but still its 20k all day. Anyway i thought i'd see what you thought since you've had a bunch o these cars, I had an 80 and a 81 in college, intake carb and headers were about all i did back then, which my chevy z71 truck would smoke now days. I'm old school and also built and raced big blocks back in the day Roost. I think your much better off building or buying a conventional 420 CI to 430 CI small block to put in the car. They can make big power, and so much easier to install with less $$$, handle better and much lighter. Id go with a built turbo 400, rear gear of your choice and better snub axles. @@FootageFactory Not needed without big power, I did go through it though. Tall 308's are perfect for the Richmond 6 speed i put in it. It was brand new, and I had to go through it to make it shift well. Looked like a cave man built it , until I de burred and polished many shafts and the detent ramps. DW
