I grew up in the back of a sale barn. My family owned a stockyard in northeastern Alabama up until I was in my 20’s. We have been out of the cattle business for about 10 years now and I miss it everyday. That’s why I watch stuff like this and reminisce.

Used to take my youngest to the horse sale. They would sell tack first. I remember her yanking at my elbow & trying to lift my arm saying, " common dad lift your arm or your not gonna get it." We went to cash out and didn't have enough money. Had to race home to next county to get more $, so we could get all our stuff, lol!

I wish I could go and hang out and work with JB. That would be awesome. Not ride bulls that’s not for me. But ride horses and work cattle that would be awesome. I worked on a ranch called Starr Hollow Ranch in Tolar Tx it was the best time of my life. They had 3600 acres and about 450 cows. It was always a new adventure every day. I miss it.

I had a bull put a guy on the ground an treated him like a rag doll. Them he busted the gates open in unloading. So I stayed to watch him sale. He put a horse on the ground an tried each of the steal barriers the handlers stay behind. Then he tried to come out where the buyers was sitting. They said that was the stupidest bull they ever seen. I said I know it took 26cc of romp an a skid steer to get him on trailer. He was pissed. An all his calf’s was the same way. One of my buddies that rodeos got a couple of his calf’s.
