Dear Joanna and Nick! You two did a good job. It's always exciting for me to watch you both. It was also very interesting to see how the old tractor worked. If I have understood this correctly, he works according to a simple principle, and you only need to spend a little longer with him. Am I right? 🤔 We had and have it very hot 🥵 here, and our farmers are also suffering from the weather. I think only our winegrowers are happy about the heat here. Unfortunately, this will continue here in the next few weeks 🌡️ I'm looking forward to next week and what happens next with the lambs. Kind wishes, Gerold and Ilse 👋🏻

Yeah, just got done watching your video. Sure brought back a lot of memories from my teenage years. In the summer months, if we wanted money, we would load the hay on a truck bed, 125 bails a load. Then go stack it the barn, was no fun place to be in 97-99 degree weather, haha. I really had a flashback, when you guys were unloading hay in the barn after dark. That would have been our last load for the day. This went on all summer long, haha. I was a go getter in 1975.

Wonderful to see the Massey baler going again. Believe me they still make bales that are as good 'quality-wise' as the new balers. The fundamental mechanical bale making principle on the new balers is exactly the same as your Massey only it's more compact, faster (wears quicker) and smoother running. You sure do make more bales in a given time with the new balers but they are expensive and if you only bale for yourself and don't contract bale for others, it's well worth keeping the old baler going. I'm sure your Dad is so very pleased and proud of you Joanna. Excellent work.

If it were me, I'd really clean up that piece of equipment, hook it back up to a tractor and let it spin so to try an isolate where the 'whine' is happenning - my 'ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure' maintenance habit...from the 'for what it's worth' department. Oh it’s so much nicer watching someone else sweating at hat much and chucking bales about 🤣. Looked a nice crop, how many were there? I definitely wouldn’t be with out my flat 8 sledge and grab though, takes half the effort in the field😊.

Hard hot work but I always enjoyed hay making. We used to have one of those MF balers. Not a bad baler. Looked like a good crop. How many bales did you get?
