Dalek Tales - The Dalek That Time Forgot - Part Four - Epilogue

The Time War, it spread across the universe effecting the nature of reality. At the Gates of Elysium the Daleks spread there destruction, and the very thing they created destroys the very thing that created them.

Arthus850 if you haven't seen night of the doctor I recommend you do so. It is obvious from that, that the time war was well underway possibly for many years. Cass talks about time lords and dalek being the same, also the 8th doctor claims he helped where he could.. this is reminiscent of what the 10th doctor says in journeys end saying to Davros "i tried to save you in the first year of the time war".. the war doctor is exactly that a soldier going to war. Not someone who would save his enemy.. especially Davros...

Lee Adams I have seen Night of the Doctor. And it was great. We finally got to see just when and how the 8th Doctor regenerated into the "9th" Doctor. And as for the rest of what you said, exactly. The War Doctor does not seem like the kind of character who would save Davros, which is why I think it still works having 8's voice here.

So the Nightmare Child was a giant Dalek mutant? Well, that explains a lot, since it was referred to as "The Dalek Emperor's Nightmare Child."

It was never made clear just what exactly The Nightmare Child was. This was just the authors interpretation of it. I had always thought of it being something so terrifying and strange that the mind couldn't fully grasp just what it was. Similar to the sphere from Army of Ghosts. A creature that simply was not meant to be but was.

It was considered by davros to be the "perfect dalek", rising above the flaws if the weaknesses of the regular dalek, had jaws, and was big enough to eat a dalek command ship, that's all we know...

the nightmare child in production notes was written something like : a large entity of massive power and a child of the Dalek Emperor not literally his child more like a pet.. in the episodes its name was only ever said, there is no designs or sketches so nobody knows. i wanted to create something big and destructive, at first i created a ball of energy with a light at the centre but i created a beast for possible future episode exploring its origin :)

Thanks for your kind comments, i made it my main aim to make sure i got it as close to canon as possible.. no the Dalek vocals were all done by me, Nick has seen the animations and loves them and thinks im 90% close to his rendition.

This entire story is possibly the greatest work of Fanon I have ever seen... All of this, from saving Skaro, to the Progenitor Daleks, the White-Point Star, the Time Lock, Caan, the Nightmare Child... It all makes sense thanks to you... You have created a work of pure genius, and I think I can speak for all Whovians, when I say that this is one of the greatest Doctor Who stories of all time (and space)! Thank you for this :)

@Duncan Arnett. The sound of the nightmare child came from me growling into a mic, Lion and creature sound of a royalty free sound Fx CD. Many Many studios use these CD's for FX.. Its purly coincidental if it sounds like Godzilla or any other Kaiju

Great work! Just watched this video series and your love and appreciation of Daleks is inspiring. I didn't even mind the prescence of the plastic, paradigm Daleks so much, although I still want them to be transitional and short lived. The Dalek attack scene in The Day of the Doctor made me think Steven Moffatt now understands Daleks after his mistake in Victory. It would be great to see traditional, dark, metallic Daleks return to exterminate their inferior cousins, and become scarey again instead of gaudy. You can write, voice act and animate. I love and admire what you've done and hope that that the right people know talent when they see it.

In a way, this can still be seen as canon (or headcanon at least) despite the existence of The War Doctor. Seeing as this takes place during the first year of the Time War, the 8th Doctor could still be the incarnation that attempted to save Davros. I wonder if Moffat had seen this fan series and took it into account when writing Day of the Doctor. I mean, as far as I can tell, nothing in the show's canon contradicts this series in any way, which is pretty cool.

The thing is you don’t have to create complex story arcs to make a good story. i have a Dalek story arc that i may turn into an audio book, and is simple. Starts in the Hall of Daleks dark and eerie all you see is lights in the eyes glowing the Supreme booms” bring forth our enemy”, the Daleks chant as the doctor is pushed to the floor in a beam of light, they ask questions about the doctors plans it then cuts to the Tardis, episodes run as normal but everyone starts with the Daleks questioning.

Davros is in a different ship, one of the shots that was cut from my animation was in space with the emperor ship staying out of the way of the battle with an armada of ships around him, Davros' ship is in the middle of battle which is why one of the daleks on the emperors ship states the command vesil is out of control.

Thank you, i would love to take the rains and bring it back to what it was.. recently watching Doctor Who it has lost its edge and excitment, plots are solved in around two minutes at the end rather than going on a journey to discover and build up the tention to an exciting climax. a town called mercy is the only one i would say had a great story this year but we have one more week and im hopeing its a good send off for the ponds.

My original design for the Nightmare child was a whirling energy ball, but after reading in books that the Nightmare child was created as a pet for the Emperor Dalek, i changed the look.

In early scripts of it being mentioned, it was of Dalek creation, and basically described to be the Dalek Emperor's "pet".

Thanks for the comment, i tried to be as close in detail as possible, unfortunately apart from part one being in the official magazine (which was awesome), and Nick Briggs liking it and worried about his job. I have heard nothing from the BBC (which is a shame), only the fans have praised my work, but I have been asked to be a guest at a convention in October.. (more on that later). I'm just glad that I made the whovians happy. let's hope one day it gets recognised :)

The one thing that bugs me is down to you releasing this before the 50th. I would love it if you edited this all together and got a John Hurt impressionist to re-record the Doctor lines. Then it would be perfect. But it’s still amazing

When we see eight in night of the doctor the war was happening. I know that its an attack on arcadia, but we don't know how long that was going on for... timey wimey and all that
