Thanks for sharing this recipe! We have had our Vitamix for several years but recently purchased the Aer Disc container. My husband makes pour over coffee and uses this to make froth for the topping. I'm using this for my whipped coffee. I'm glad I found out how to use the Aer Disc for the whipped coffee. Soo much easier!

🥰🥰🥰. I made this today and used hot milk (winter, cold…😊). It’s wonderful! I didn’t have a glass mug but will get one because of how beautiful it is. The foam wasn’t quite as firm as yours (no upside down test lol) but I attribute that to living at a high altitude; it starts foaming up immediately. I ended up pouring the results into a large glass and watched it settle into two layers. The foam lasts quite a while. I’m now addicted and will probably be bouncing off the wall later. One could add a shot of Baileys or Kahlua for an evening treat (decaf). Thank you!

Looks Great Henry. Do you think it would work with one of the sugar substitutes?
@BlendingWithHenry
@BlendingWithHenry 4 жыл бұрын
I would say so because much of the foam is created due to the dense amount of instant coffee. Some recipes for Dalgona Coffee use 4 TBS of sugar and some use only 2TSP of sugar. Mine uses 2TBS so it's not too sweet. The result appears to be the same for all recipes so I think sweetener substitutes may work, but I haven't tried it. Thanks for watching! 😊

I had huge issues duplicating this at first until I added a few ice cubes after the hot dissolving step. Most of the time Dalgona is made with cold water so I suspect this is the reason. The cubes didn’t really get into the foam too much and the result was very stable. We had ours atop chocolate milk for decadence.
@BlendingWithHenry
@BlendingWithHenry 3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. The majority of recipes I checked out use hot water simply for the reason to dissolve the coffee and sugar. It's more difficult to do that with cold water. Great to hear that you managed to find a way to work for you but my recipe should've worked.

Hello, Henry, this is the video I have been waiting for. Thank you!! Do I need this special air container or my regular container would work as well ? I have tried the Dalgona coffee using hand blender, it was worked. Lol.
@BlendingWithHenry
@BlendingWithHenry 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Amy! I always love seeing you post. I did some recipe testing and while you "can" turn the coffee liquid into a creamy texture it won't foam up with the standard Vitamix container blades. The Aer Disc creates that Air into the mixture and puffs up the coffee into that rich foam. That's why your hand blender can do this, but yes it does take a lot of work and time. I listed a few things the Aer Disc container can do besides foams so if you see a benefit or need for it then go for it. But it's $144.95 so that's why you should make sure you will use it for everything it can do. Thank you so much for always supporting me. Luv ya!! 😍

Henry, I have an ice cream compressor and was wondering if I whipped up my base mix in the AER, if that would give me a more smoother and silky ice cream. Anybody else know?
@BlendingWithHenry
@BlendingWithHenry 3 жыл бұрын
I would say that AER Disc wouldn't help in this situation. Just like when meringue is created by whipping air into egg whites you have to fold the whipped mixture into other ingredients to maintain a light and airy consistency. Whipping air into the base mixture of your ice cream will only result in the mixture being deflated once your ice cream maker begins to churn the mixture because it will be over-mixed.

I tried this about 12 different times before playing with the speed and blending times.............18 attempts and it never worked (bummer!!). I used the aer disc container on the Ascent 3500. Hi Kevin! Thanks for reaching out. I don't generally talk about brands of products I use for specific reasons but I will say when testing this recipe I tried different types of instant coffee (even generic) and the results were the same as in the video.
