Dalindyebo instructs school to reopen after intimidation and extortion fears

Teaching and learning were not disrupted at Laphumikwezi Primary School outside Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
Yesterday, AbaThembu King Zwelibanzi Dalindyebo instructed the school to reopen after it was closed last Wednesday due to fears of intimidation and extortion.
The school's principal, Loyiso Jekubeni, was allegedly assaulted after refusing to release money generated from a cellphone network tower in the grounds, which a group claiming to be custodians of the land where the school is situated, was demanding.
According to the Eastern Cape Basic Education Department, there were actually four schools that were targeted by the alleged extortionists in Mthatha, including a school for people living with disabilities.

The Xhosas need to get their acts right. Startinh with the king.. They all needed to held public tribal meetings.. The greed and lawlessness has taken place among the Xhosas.. This king needs to call on imbizo of the elders in the community. It looks like the Xhosas have lost or forgotten their way of life

AbaThembu are not the only kingdom under the Xhosa flag. Also painting an entire ethnic group with one brush is ridiculous.

I'm Zulu but it is not right to paint an ethnic group this way... u do have good observation about greed and lawlessness but those things are not only a problem with Xhosa or AbaThembu people.

Thembu Kingdom is independent, not under any nation...no way of life is lost anywhere in the Tembu and Xhosa Kingdoms people still observe their traditional rituals..also crime is a problem in all provinces thugs demanding protection fees just got killed in KZN south coast and Cape Town.
