Crazy, this is exactly how I see it in my memories. I can feel the wind on my face because we didn’t have AC in the truck, the colors, the grainy look. Man, those were some good times we all took for granted.

I was going on 9 at this time. I remember Dallas looking like this as my mom would take my bro and I over this freeway many times. Nice candid throwback!

Man than you for the nostalgia. Loved growing up there. From going to Dallas Ally on the weekends to eat with my parents at planet Hollywood to sneaking off to the lizard lounge and all the other places there and between deep Ellum when I got older. Dallas will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️

I visited my sister in Dallas in 1992, seemed nice. I went back in 2002 and the population of the Dallas/ Fort Worth area had just about doubled in 10 years. So overcrowded.

it's kind of weird and cool at the same time to see the victory park area back when it was just a power plant/railyard with the slightly unchanged main skyline. I wasn't born in dallas, but i lived around the dallas area in my childhood, while most victory park was still in production. the american airlines center was already built at the time.

Back in the late '70's I worked for Dallas Power and Light Co., and did a number of projects at that power plant. It was the first for Dallas, originally serving the streetcar system. Over the years it was one of several plants built around Dallas that provided power. I had hoped the plant would have been saved and turned into some kind of museum/entertainment, as it had all kinds of cool "old stuff." Memories.

The old Neuhoff slaughterhouse was right there. That part of downtown stunk because the hogs were kept in pens around the building before they were slaughtered.

I was in Dallas from 1991 to 2002...those were some good times. I went back to visit in 2012 and I couldn't believe how much more the area had expanded. I enjoyed it back before 2001, but don't think I could live there now. I hope you're enjoying your current city.

0:59 speed limit 60, there was a night: 55 truck speed limit in Texas until fall 1999, although unposted in this video, however, Fort Worth did use a Truck Night 55 sign below a speed limit 60 sign through the late 90s, smaller versions of those signs were placed on farm to market roads until September 2011. Those signs were rare, only spotted throughout Tarrant, Parker, and Palo Pinto County according to my knowledge.
