April and Bobby was poor writing because for years Bobby never got involved with JR's sloppy seconds. Plus April was his cousin Jack's ex wife. I know Pam was Ray's ex girlfriend but Bobby at the time didn't know Ray was Jocks son and his half brother, in the same way Ray didn't know Lucy was his niece when he was banging her.
