Troy Aikman's first-ever appearance in a Dallas uniform was the first game of the 1989 preseason in San Diego - but this was the only regular season game he ever played there. In fact it was the only time between 1986 and 2004 that the Cowboys played in San Diego.

Bobby Ross was the best coach in franchise history. GM BB was good at FAs and minor trades but he sxcked in the draft. The Chargers were really close before BB blew up the team after the Colts playoff game.
@redmustangredmustang2 жыл бұрын
Look at what he was able to accomplish at San Diego. In 1992, the Chargers started out 0-4 and then finished out with a 11-5 record a playoff win. The previous year they in 91 they went 4-12. He got them to the playoffs and then eventually the Super Bowl in 1994. Even in 95 they still went 9-7 and made the playoffs. Bobby Ross was a good coach and even at Georgia Tech got them a national championship and when he went to the Lions, he got them to the playoffs a few times. Not even the Don Coryell and their high flying offense of the early 80's were able to accomplish that.

We know Stan Humphries was hurt and the Chargers were not the same without Stan Humphries, but the Cowboys still got it done when they needed a win. The Chargers would still go 9-7 and make the playoffs but lost to the Colts in the wildcard.

He did 1989-1990 (Shula Years) and 1998-1999 (Gaily Years). Aikman had such a quick drop back, could read defenses better than anyone, and was the most accurate QB of all time.

My kids asked me of why Chargers couldnt go back to Super Bowl or be better after 1994 season. I replied " Their HC Bobby Ross quit because he didnt want Brian Still and felt he had no place here in NFL if he cant get players he wanted in the Draft for the GM BB was they guy, who often pick up 2 to 3 guys off the street( lol, but true).

JOHN MADDEN WAS A COACH FOR YEARS,, WON A SB, SO HE IS QUALIFIED TO EXPLAIN THE X'S AND O'S OF THE GAME, FOR THOSE JUST NOW LEARNING WHAT IT ALL MEANS, PLAY-BY-PLAY..HE SOUNDS LIKE HE'S BEING A KNOW-IT-ALL, BUT HE'S REALLY NOT, IT'S JUST HIS IRRITATING, WEST COAST, LOUD VOICE, LOL..HE REALLY DOES EXPLAIN THE GAME FOR ANY INTERESTED IN LEARNING IT..HE'S NOT ALWAYS RIGHT, BUT NOBODY IS..RULES CHANGE AT TIMES, THAT EVEN THE REFS DON'T KNOW ABOUT..THA'S WHAT THE RULE BOOK IS FOR..I GREW UP STUDYING ALL OF THE RULES AND CHANGES, HAVE A PHOTOGENIC MEMORY AND LEARN IT, NOT MEMORIZE IT..SI, I CRITIQUE 'HIM', TOO, LOL..
@chesterwatson40872 жыл бұрын
Madden just could not shut up. He acted as if no one could see anything except him, and that's why he compelled HIMSELF to explain (too loudly and too excitedly) every move. And he talked all over the game and Pat Summerall ALL the time. The only way to enjoy a game he "analyzed" is with a mute button.
