I can hear a lady saying they have a perfect body and she wants their work out, i was a hip/hop dancer for years and Ppl don't realise we are like athletes you have to be very fit and strong to dance 3_5,mins straight when we weren't training and on stage after i would just lie on the ground breathless and i was at !Y peak, these women are even fitter to have to do eye high kicks at the end is phenomenal.

I saw their show about their process about being on the team, and it is very, very difficult. One girl named Vivian was a beautiful girl, but was kicked off for having a stocky build, something that can't be helped. One girl was off because the directors thought she didn't gave a pretty smile. People don't realize how hard cheerleading can be, until you do it.

Yeah, I think so. You can't help if you have a stocky build. They need new directors, the ine they have now belong in a museum, they're like, what, 40-50?! They discriminate between the girls! Like, almost every single cheerleader on that team has blonde hair and light eyes, is super thin, and that isn't healthy. I hope that one day, they take on stockier women to help show that you don't need to be blonde and thin to be beautiful.

Why are they called cheerleaders if their routine consists more of dance than cheering? Isn't cheer leading made up of flips, splits, stunts, etc.? I'm not hating on the DCC, they're amazing, the best the NFL has. But I'm asking in general of all the NFL's cheerleaders. Just curious.

They are more of a Texas style drill team like we have in highschools here. I did drill team team in highschool and we did the same stuff as them like kicklines and pom poms

Cheerleading used to be to lead the fans in cheers for the team. These girls are actually a dance team or drill team. But, the term "cheerleader" has expanded and changed over the years. There aren't many squads today that actually lead the fans in cheers. Most high school and college "cheerleaders" are more focused on tumbling and stunts, but also do some cheering.

Just the way it’s been. Our NHL team refrains from using cheerleaders, dancers, or ice girls to avoid sexism and more clarity. They instead use “Spirit Squad” as the term. Official team name is the Carolina Hurricanes Storm Squad. They do a mixture of dancing, in-game promotional events, hype up the crowd and plan entertainment

The sad thing is they get paid minimum wage. Between $9-$15/hr during training and $400 for home games...tf? I was so sure for how hard they have to work and being on such famous platform they’d be making bank. It’s sad actually. I think they should be making like at least $100k a season. Not $3500.

That was the MAIN reason I Didn’t audition when I was younger. …and for the record, back when I was dancing, they only made $15 per GAME Period! I think had I made the team, I would have been with Judy. I stuck with on and off Broadway. At least with my SAG card I was guaranteed $300-400 a week on the road plus room and board, and once back in the city if it was a hit (even if short lived) we lived in the Village Brownstones (8 of us sharing rent) . The point is, We Got Paid. It’s really not fair for all the work they put in. They work just as hard as we do on Broadway. Everyday, classes,rehearsal, then performance, twice on Wednesday and Sunday for the matinees.
