I can tell you exactly what went wrong. The defense was beat with push pulls, outside zone runs (where was Overshown), and crossing pass routes (namely because we refuse to play our younger safeties in coverage). All in all, the team can’t stop the run the defensively and can’t run the ball offensively, which are the same issues we’ve had for the past four to five years. That’s why I’m not upset at this loss. Same old song and dance from the front office, coaching staff, and the players. This team will win some games, but nothing beyond regular season success. Keep up the great work Tuck.

What has Clark done to earn a starting spot is beyond me, he has shown nothing since he's been here that says he's a NFL starter. Continually playing Micah at DE on 3rd and 4th and short is criminal at this point. When has he ever made a stop in these situations? He should be at LB where one they can't run away from him for whatever reason and two he at least has a shot to make a play. He was moved so easily by the Saints on those rare 3rds and short they had. I still don't know why we resigned Hooker with Bell and Thomas showing promise as soon as they got here, the favoritism on this team is still out of control. Wilson in the box check, Wilson deep HELL NO. Especially when there are not one but 2 players who are faster and can man that position.

If the Cowboys are going to play a 4-3, then the Defensive Tackles must be good enough to take in double teams to allow for the linebackers to plug the holes to stop the run. Once a team has no respect for your inability to stop the run, then they will run, which then sets up play action pass. Well coached teams always blow out Dallas because they run the ball to set up the pass, and then since Dallas cannot run the ball, they sit back on the pass.

In my opinion, this defense would vastly improve against the run as well as also taking away the short and mid passing game if they moved Micah back to middle linebacker. Micah has generational LB talent and it's being wasted at DE. He could still blitz plenty from LB if needed. Imagine a LT or Ray Lewis at DE instead of LB, makes no sense does it? Dallas has to get another DE (draft, trade, free agency) that can actually generate pressure and get Micah back to LB.

Our linebackers have had issues with running straight to the blocker, rather than their hole, and unable to disengage. That's likely because we have a linebacker coach that is teaching them to perform this way. We should have fired the LB coach last year.

If we could convince Zimmer to just move Osa to Edge, opposite Tank, we could end this run fit problem., permantly. Let him play 3 Tech on passing downs, let Parsons play the Edge then, other that Micah shold play outside backer, on early downs, unless it's a pass heavy team. I think, Parsons has got in the ear of both DCs and he's become his own worst enemy, trying to convince them he's an athletic edge, with a 245lb LB body.

Biggest mistake ever was playing Micah as a FT rush end. As a result, he hasn't developed as a LB which was the position he was drafted. He's just too light to be a FT DE so he consistently gets worn down by the end of the season. He either needs to develop as a LB or stack on 25-30 pounds to become a DE.

That offensive firepower should of been addressed in the off-season w/ FA. If not then, the draft in Rounds 1-4 should of addressed that. Outside of the 2 OL picks, the front off. never did solve that issue. Also, they didn't fully address the need for youth in the LB room either (minus M. What I saw was a Saints team that just seemed to execute almost every offensive play exactly how they're drawn up. Very rare to have an entire team make every block perfectly, but it seemed like they did. In the last play approx 12:35 number 99 and 30 crash hard to the inside… no way he was supposed to shoot to the A gap when he is playing edge and leave zero containment. 30 was crashing to the inside too and the wr just simply pushed him further creating a poor tackle attempt and wide open run. Go back and look at that. They cant bite that hard on simple misdirection, this is self discipline to do their assignment.

No, we DO NOT have a talented safety room. This is what I was concerned with going to the 2 high safety looks...you better have 2 good safeties and the Cowboys don't have that. At best these safeties are designed to be SS in the 2 high look and the deep safety in a Cover1/Cover-3 look. That's why Quinn smartly used Cover-1 and Cover-3, we don't have a FS type for Cover-2/Cover-6 looks. All of this revisionist history of Zimmer as the D-Coordinator and we top it off with not having the personnel for his scheme. This team is cooked. I don't agree that the total effort of the defense was poor. You had some guys who found out too late they were out of position. There was some lack of effort displayed by some of the players for sure. They need to do something about the middle of that defense. Boy wouldn't it have been nice to have John Ridgeway III on our team right about now. It was ridiculous he was cut just last year to make room for a guy for a couple of games who was then cut later. You should just be able to move your players to the practice squad without having to cut them and hope they clear wavers. Whoever came up with that rule should be fired. Maybe, play Mazi more, and find some effort guys either on your practice squad.

Look at Micah's effort on the second Kamara TD run, unblocked and gave no effort whatsoever. This is the next guy we are about to give a ridiculous amount of salary cap space to huh. He should not be at DE inside the 5-yard line at all, but since he is coddled and gets to do what he wants he plays there with half ass effort. Oh yeah, this team is never going anywhere with this front office in charge. They continuously bring in has been and those players always get exposed during the season.
