Dallas was one of my favorite country music singers and beyond his sincerity of style in performance was his character as being a "class guy" all the way. Personal conflicts and a deep sense of needing time to look deeply within for a guide of affirmation upon religion, family and God and what direction his life's future should take. Unfortunate for us, but not for him. He saved himself, by being a principled man of great motivation who would NOT accept excuses, only reasons, for behaviors in his long search for the reasons in life and of living. There is a great lesson therein for all of us. He was always true, not so much to formal religion, but to what we would describe as 'a personal relationship with his Creator, Our God'. For us..., we were deprived of about 30 years of lifetime performances that just never happened, so I'll simply close with a simple Bless you Dallas as you glory in that spiritual Afterlife of Peace. I miss not having been able to shake your hand here at the mortal end-link end and call you MY GOOD FRIEND.

He is my favorite songwriter, in part due to my favorite singer, Connie Smith. I consider myself Catholic, but go figure my favorite artists are born again Christians.

With his passing just about at the end of this classic breed of Nashville songwriters. Perhaps only Bob McDill is left.

Yes. This is Sharon his wife. Precious lady. He’s blessed to have her in his life. She’s small but she’s dynamite.
