Loved the scene with Pam and Christopher from the score down to the acting. I like the realization she came to that her “stupidity” broke them up. Yes, it was the letter written by Katherine that added the finishing touches to their divorce, but her continued emotional fragility put their marriage in jeopardy from the beginning.
@ItThats5 жыл бұрын
Finally a realisation about Pamela's feelings without bashing her. I agree with you in part. Her emotional fragility came in double: her mother's involvement into Barnes/Ewing feud, her death and Bobbys paranoia beating JR that made him almost like JR.
@albertseanchen79295 жыл бұрын
Tito Teixeira Pam was fragile from finding out Hutchinson McKinney was/might have been her father. From that point they took her from a stronger character to a more emotionally vulnerable one who kept making greater missteps with the man she loved most 🤷🏽♂️. Then to the finale of leaving Bobby and Christopher forever after the accident. I’d rather they killed her off than left her with such a flakiness to her character.
@ItThats5 жыл бұрын
That didn't intefere with her divorce Bobby whatsoever. Bobby changed a lot during Ewing Oil fight, he constantly didn't care about her during that year and when she was in The Store while Alex Ward was making a pass on her. He was careless and oblivious
@albertseanchen79295 жыл бұрын
Tito Teixeira Bobby was the same guy she married, the one SHE wanted to be involved in Ewing Oil. It’s Pam’s over-hyped sensitivities that were always the problem with the two. Bobby always loved her. What makes this scene so moving, besides the score and acting is Pam’s realization that she’s ultimately responsible for the marriage ending. Marriage is tough. You don’t solve problems by running away. Stay together and work it out. Jock’s and Ellie’s marriage was a tough one, but strong, because they didn’t run away from each other. Pam is a flakey character. Her abrupt exit out of Bobby’s and Christopher’s lives proves it.
@ItThats5 жыл бұрын
@@albertseanchen7929 No he wasn't and he admitted he changed a lot. Also he was the one who wanted the divorce - manipulated by Katherine, they both were - Pamela didn't wanted it and she was able to return to him after mourning her mother and Ewing Oil Fight ended. And don't bring Season 10 runaway story here it was completely out of character and Victoria Principal would never agree with what the writers did. And Jock and Ellie's marriage was almost destroyed also by Miss Ellie's fragile points and Jocks blindness to business. So no.

The house used for the interior shots was also used for the Tom Hanks movie _Bachelor Party_ , it was the home of his potential in-laws. The house in the exterior shots was on Park Lane in Dallas, it was later torn down and replaced by an English Palladian style mansion. A few doors down is the house where they filmed the interiors for the first season. They never filmed inside the ranch used for exteriors of Southfork.

In a way I agree with Katherine and her hatred for Pam and Cliff. Cliff destroyed her father’s company and Pam totally forgave him and because of Cliff and Pam’s fight with the Ewing’s, Rebecca was killed and Pam STILL forgave Cliff!!!!!!!
@redletter20085 жыл бұрын
Travis James - Herbert Wentworth should never have given his entire business empire to Rebecca. Then again, he didn’t know she had two children by two different men before latching onto him. Katherine was raised to believe she’d inherit her father’s empire, only to see 2/3 of it handed to half siblings she met only two years earlier.

Kind of like how JR hated Ray especially since he got 10% on Ewing Oil and 10 million from the trust. JR and Katherine had very similar situations finding out having half siblings as an adult.

Pam put the nail in the coffin for their marriage when she refused to support Bobby during the fight for Ewing Oil and walked out on Bobby. I think it must have been the "Dynasty effect". In Dynasty series everything was really elegant and luxurious and so Dallas had to change to please people more since Dynasty had started to raise in the ratings. After this season Dallas dropped on the second place in ratings and Dynasty took number one spot and become the most popular prime time soap opera. Two years after this season they both dropped down. Especially the popularity of Dynasty dropped very soon.

The characters of Bobby and Pam are modeled after Romeo and Juliet. The whole show hinged on their love story. Now in the later seasons the writers lost the plot somewhat and we ended up in a dizzying maze half the time. I personally loved every scene with these two. The destruction of the marriage between these two has to be the dumbest plot twist ever...next to the shower scene.
