It seemed like the West went through Colorado, Detroit, or Dallas during the late 90's early 00's. I lived in CO at that time, and I was a huge Avs fan. I hated losing to the Wings, or the Stars, but the quality of Hockey played in those rivalries was unmatched. All-time great goalies, stacked HOF rosters, it was a great time to be a hockey fan.

Could happen again in 2020...uh not Detroit! But depending on the matchups,& seeds-I'd pick Dallas vs Colorado WCF, right now. Of course, nobody knows the matchups, how theyll play,& even...if theyll play. But I think the West goes to Dallas, Colorado, or maybe St Louis. And for probably the 1st time ever, everybody goes into the playoffs healthy, but rusty. I watched this game 7 in Vegas though, with a lot of Dallas fans. It was not a glorious day. But it made 2001 all the sweeter.

Much respect to my favourite NHL-team. I started to go with Stars because of NHL 98. My favourite color back then was green and that's the reason i always picked Stars to play. Didn't know anything about hockey, i was maybe 4-5 years old. Im not from US so i don't have favourite team because of city i live. I just picked them because of green. Now im big fan of NHL and Stars is STILL the number one for me! Greets from Finland! Sorry for my bad english, not my native language! Shoudn't nevevr change the old logo, this was much better!

The old logo is the true logo. It’s been almost a decade now and I dislike the new logo as much as I did the day I first saw it. It’s never grown on me. I think mostly because when Gagliardi bought the team he decided to play designer and overhaul everything. Just felt like an intrusion by an outsider. Major threat bump here, but Buffalo hadn’t been in an elimination scenario at all that year until they faced the Stars. If they were, at any point in time, the underdog they certainly didn’t look like one. I still remember the MasterCard commercials of that time: “having a slinky for a spine? Priceless…” Dominik Hašek was the shit back then and Buffalo were blessed to have him.

This is why the goal wad in fact a valid goal: Hull had initially gained possession of the puck outside the crease and had made a shot that was blocked by Buffalo goaltender Dominik Hasek. One of Hull's skates entered the crease as he corralled the rebound, and Hull's second shot scored the Cup-winning goal, followed by a lengthy official review. The goal was eventually allowed, as having simply blocked Hull's shot rather than catching it, Hasek never took possession of the puck away from Hull. Officials therefore determined that rather than calling it a loose puck, Hull would be considered to have had continuous possession of the puck from before his first shot outside the crease.
@ad5232
@ad5232 8 жыл бұрын
Here's my take on it. Hull shot the puck, it rebounded off Hasek, and Hull cleaned up his own rebound without interfering with Hasek's ability to make the save. Now I have one question for all of you Buffalo Sabres fans: Why the FUCK is this so hard for you people to understand? You lost the 1999 Stanley Cup Final to a superior hockey team. Live with it. Just like you live with your FOUR CONSECUTIVE Super Bowl defeats. Have fun, losers.

Yes that is all understood problem was that is not the way it was called all year long whether or not you were cleaning up your own rebound or not. Anytime you put your foot in the crease it was called off all year. That is the problem. I wanted dallas to win but woulda rathered see it without that goal. Theyll always be a question mark now. I hated the way they called foot in crease rule all year when i felt lots should have been goals, but at least it was consistent until the final goal. I think they woulda won that game anyway though.

As a Hawks fan, this was bittersweet. The Hawks had a chance to sign Brett Hull (or trade for I can't remember) and the cheapskate owner we had at the time pretty much put the Hammer down and said no. Like...how badass would that have been to have another Hull in the Hawks franchise. Not to mention Eddie Belfour was winning a cup and not in a Hawks sweater. I was happy he did win though, but those were some heartbreaking years for the Blackhawks.

For all I hear about No Goal, it should be noted that Buffalo: 1. Played nearly 2 full games in game 6 and scored 1 goal in over 100 minutes of hockey (If you go back to game 4, they played nearly 3 full games after Dixon Ward's goal and scored.... once) 2. Outside of the game 1 OT goal, they scored only 6 goals the rest of the way- 2, 1, 2, 0, 1. And also worth noting that Dallas' other game 6 goal- Lehtinen- was VERY un-Hasek like

...once they got got rid of norm green and brought in tom hicks, that was a big help for you guys. it was about having the resources required to get the guys needed to ice a contender. also wanted to mention i really liked the white jersey from '99, my favorite stars jerseys were before the star template (such as the '99 road uni's)...wished the stars woulda just stuck with them instead of changing every few years. assets.sbnation.com/assets/888336/option2.png?_ga=2.12036023.280633448.1524501302-1667149094.1524501302 just my opinion :D

In the 90 the stars where a great team playing good strong hockey 🏒 having a winning record for alot of years even making the playoffs never saw them win the cup ever and they even had some maybe hall of farmers in 93 they came in the league they left Minnesota

I'm a stars fan, but too bad it won't happen this year. They're lack of another top line for scoring, and blue line is holding them back. They're close though and the their future is bright.

Have faith but overall I think I agree. We need to add one more top 4 Dman, preferably a bruising one and it’s ours. Too much offensive D at this point.. they get carried away at times. Great goalie and offense already

Funny that given the controversy over the clinching goal they play nothing else matters at the start. Very appropriate
