In 2000, Dallen Jennet was climbing a tree in Majuro, Marshall Islands, and fell onto a live electrical wire. The resulting burns left him without a nose, and for five years, stayed within the confines of his yard to avoid scrutiny.
Canvasback Missions took on Dallen's case, and with the help of the Republic of the Marshall Islands Ministry of Health, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt. Sinai, Dr. Tal Dagan, and many others, was able to bring Dallen to New York to receive reconstructive surgery.
After 4 months of procedures, Dallen returned to the Marshall Islands with a new nose and a new life.
