Gotta be super careful around those ROUNDS guys. They could be a UXO (Un-eXploded-Ordinance). Some of those round blow up on impact, not like a gun bullet that is just lead. The box looked like blasting caps.... jeeez. I'm prior military and having a panic attack watching you guys just toss that round around LOL

To be fair... I think calling it “live ordinance” would be a bit of a stretch. I’m not claiming to be an ordinance expert but It didn’t appear to have a casing. And even if it did still have the casing, the odds of the powder staying dry in those conditions are next to 0. It looks like a fired artillery round (the lead projectile) that for whatever reason didn’t break up when it hit the water.

QuiglyDwnUnda it doesn’t matter that it doesn’t have the casing, the casing has the gun powder to fire the projectile, but the projectile itself has explosive within it to detonate on impact and spray shrapnel out, so thats unexploded ordinance that could go off

You are correct. If it was a pipe bomb, it would've exploded as soon as he moved it. They are activated by this thing called a Mercury switch, which is basically a lightbulb filled with mercury. Once the bomb is tilted, it explodes

I said "bullet" to simplify for people that might not understand, the use of quotation marks should have made that obvious.. But since you want to get technical, it is in fact a projectile.. A "shell" or "shell casing" is the housing that holds the projectile and powder charge that is loaded into the chamber to be shot..

T O M first of all you’re using Wikipedia as a source second of all as someone of the 94 series and apart of artillery maintenance and have worked around Bradley’s that is hella false. Even in our technical manuals it is a support vehicle. It only loads 6 guys and 19 deltas or cav scouts use the Bradley. I know what I’m talking about lol. The vehicle was probably a truck used to transport munitions, and the round was either a shell for artillery of some sort or possibly ammunition for the main armament of a tank.

@DALLMYD my dad (who was in the navy) said the huge circular thing you guys found(around 6 min 45 sec) was a wheel or a roller that was supposed to be attached to a platform so that it can help get ships and things like that out of the water.
