That’s because if you look at Dame and his track record he’s speaking nothing but FACTS!! Dame was the was the muscle behind The Roc. He was the one pushing the music out to radio stations and getting the IDEAS to start ROCAWEAR. You may not have liked how DAME went about things but he was the one handling the business. Name one venture from the time the Rocafella started to the time now were you heard Jay come up with an IDEA that was a money maker. A lot of artist will tell you Jay k ew how to piggy back off someone else’s idea and make it his own. I’m not saying it’s not smart but you also have to take into consideration just how smart DAME is he understood the business he just wasn’t playing by the rules of not burning bridges he’s all about building his own roads to his own bridge and while everyone else is charging tolls and keeping the money he’s wanting to help other build off him. He’s taking about not just building roads and bridges hes wanting to control the whole system

This is the problem people like Dame have: they spread half truths, which they themselves believe and occasionally be mad with people that got better sense, and actually take time to study things out. Very delusional, only ignorant mfs going to go with a dude like that, he talks like he knows the whole vision, but he only THINKS HE KNOW. That's why he needs a thinker like Jay in order to succeed. About Puffy killing Jay-Z, I wonder how many people remember that Puffy AND Ja Rule were killing Jay-z so much that he backed out of a tour with them and said he cancelled because "I just want to fall back and work on a album." But as soon as that tour started he announced his own smaller tour with Talib Kweli and a bunch of backpack rappers opening up. Ja Rule was quoted in the Source saying "Damn homie, why the backpack niggas and not me?" 😂 I peeped game. Them dudes was so hot compared to him in that moment that he would have had to open up and of course he couldn't do that lol So he lied and made his own smaller tour that he can open up. And this was while Blueprint which out which people claim is his best album. They was killin him.

The puff influence had rappers trying to duplicate it and wasn’t working. From that wack video and song sunshine the city is mine and I know what girls like. Jay was trying to follow that trend and it didn’t work. The streets is watching movie gave him that street appeal again and save him. And stayed there for volume 2.

Simple blackballing at the highest level
@user-dv3kq3rm4h2 күн бұрын
Because that's not how the industry works, this is such a simplistic naïve way of looking at it. That's like saying, why don't Multi-national conglomerates just give to poor people? The real world doesn't work like that. The music industry is the cliquiest place there is. It's called being blackballed.
@chicagof98932 күн бұрын
@ I disagree you call it simplistic, but when you have talent and certain relationships you can’t be blackballed in my opinion, unless again you alienate yourself to the point where no one wants to touch you. Again it’s all opinion BUT I just feel he doesn’t take accountability for his actions and just finger points- even his claim over discovering Kevin hart and says he won’t help him- discover is a strong word, just cause you gave him a break doesn’t mean you discovered

From the New York Post 2008: Eastern Savings Bank has filed suit against entrepreneur Damon Dash, charging the Roc-a-Fella Records co-founder hasn't made a payment on his $78,504.20-a-month mortgage since January. "YOU ARE IN DANGER OF LOSING YOUR HOME," reads the foreclosure action against Dash and wife Rachel Roy. The $7.3 million mortgage was actually taken on two TriBeCa properties the couple owns, at 25 N. Moore St. and at 79 Laight St. A rep for Dash did not return a call and e-mail for comment. The clothing big has been besieged by debtors in the past year, despite having an estimated $50 million fortune. The Post reported last year that he owed the city $2 million in back taxes, and the mortgage suit says he has $100,000 in federal tax liens against his properties.
