The power of a man in love singing for his lady....

In the same weekend that this was released, Brown released a solo cover of "Unchained Melody" and an original ballad titled "Take the Night Off." That much romance from one man left the rest of us no option but taking a vow of celibacy.

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

Yes, Austin nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say for sure if it was better or not. But this one from Home Free certainly is.

This is why I don't even think of them as an acapella group anymore. They are just my favorite band. So freaking good! Austin seems to feel every word he sings. And, those harmonies and Adam's beatboxing...wow! Thanks for the great Home Free reaction! Looking forward to more.

A reactor had trivia questions. One was what genre does HF sing. Most (including me) were answering all or country. We had forgotten a capella is a genre... Dang, those guys truly make you forget it's all a capella!

The more Home Free you listen to, the more you'll realise just how talented all the members of Home Free are. And they're all happy to let the best person for the song take the lead. Try their new version of Stand By Me - another soulful classic they kill.

It’s Austin Brown. Austin and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was during Covid so they weren’t even together and I thought the use of tvs was clever. Austin is great and can do great riffs but don’t be too quick to judge all the boys. They are all amazing singers!!! To hear more bass, try I Can’t Outrun You, Yours, Brothers in Arms, Helplessly Hoping. Rob is also a great singer and can sing opera. Good one Dame and I subscribed!🥰😍

I've never cared for this song, but the boys killed it. Fabulous backing vocals, percussion perfection and Austin just flying off into the stratosphere like it's normal.

It is hard to say that Austin is the best singer in the group, just because they are all so amazing. It seems like depending on who takes more of the lead in each song, you'll be saying that every time depending on who it is. They are all astonishingly talented and can all shine in the same way that Austin did on this one. I think you should try a very fun song next from them, try their cover of Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling.

Austin killed this. Not to menthe background harmonies and beat boxing as well. Percy Sledge would be so very proud. Love your reaction!

Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Got to ❤️❤️❤️ Home Free!! #HomeFree #HomeFries

I always loved the late Percy Sledge's 1966 original (not so much Michael Bolton's cover - I thought it rather over-wrought). Austin's (now) wife was in the studio when this was filmed & that's who he's looking at. As always the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are simply terrific. Back in the day it was called "blue-eyed soul" (yeah - I'm old!) Great reaction!

Michael Bolton's version in the early 90's was also a cover. The original was by Percy Sledge in 1966 and it was a huge hit back then. You may want to check it out.

Austin was singing to his girlfriend/wife in this video. She was standing close to the camera guy. When he was singing to the camera you'll know why. The outcome made it more personable.

I don't like to compare artists, and Michael Bolton did a grand job of this song. But ... Michael had an orchestra backing him up, and Austin only had 3 men harmonizing and a beatboxer. Did you miss the orchestra? I didn't. Quarantine made for innovative methods of production, and the Home Free guys learned a bunch of new tricks during that year or so of being geographically separated. And they just keep getting better! I love your reaction and comments. Austin is just as great as you said.

I really am not keen on Bolton's version - it sounds as if the title should be When a Man is Seriously Pissed Off with a Woman. The sound is sort of constipated and irritable. Austin's version here is about joy, the willing acceptance of the risks for the sake of love.
