Band of Brothers was a once-in-a-time series. And Damian Lewis was the perfect casting for Richard Winters. I have seen lots of stuff by him by now but I just always cannot help myself and see Winters first every time I look at him. What a brilliant man and brilliant actor and human being.

Damian Lewis is a bit like what I was saying about Christian Bale before he got big - cast him in everything, as anything. Diverse and charismatic actor whose face can fit many parts but moreso is capable but also willing to play many parts. Next time people play the casting game of who should be in Star Wars, Marvel movies etc. you gotta be mentioning this guy for all the big parts in big films. Now that I say this he would make an interesting Obi Wan if there wasn't Ewan already as this guy.

this is really shocking to hear about life... It's one of my all time favourites and one of the few dvd boxes I bought. When I recommend it to people I always praise the show for not going the route of say... castle (i.e. just bloating the runtime with uninspired season after season exploding the same basic plot device). I thought going with only 1,5 seasons was brilliant, especially since the plot is well structured and passed and left with everything neatly tied up and satisfying. I know it should not shock me how that actually came about considering how cynical I usually am with hollywood politics, but damn...
@thedexterbros5 жыл бұрын
Life was so good, maybe my favorite dramatic show tied with maniac, but I was glad that it ended up getting canceled because if it continued to go on I think it would have just drowned under bigger and bigger conspiracy plots like a lot of shows do. The fact that they had to just tie up the story at the end of 2 seasons made it really an almost perfect series.

100 percent on point - USA - we - have film stars with no craft , a persona . They are millionaires because they also do sponsorship , are in magazines cause they are so vain . Then Americans with average intelligence follow them . Those of us with above average intelligence have no clue why the obsession because we like films with excellent writing and characters with “multiple layers” complex characters. The LA / Hollywood has both . The indie film fest will bring out some great stories and actors , but not always either . Yes if you want to be a respected actor learn by doing drama in school or community theatre and even if you do go on to college one with a great film department and learn how to draw from your unconscious so you can the spark that makes excellent complex/ layered characters that can be viewed by audience beyond the script- it’s your body language, facial expressions and emotional intelligence that will make you successful. And please no cosmetic surgery, Botox or fillers . The audience who appreciates this level of storytelling , directing , want you as God made you . See you on the big screen- oh wait today it’s see you on the streaming platform!
