I swear the actor had a smattering of Pennsylvania Dutch in his BOB performance. On an aside, I was at a stoplight Ephrata Pennsylvania on a cold February night, and, while in The Major’s home town, the sudden thought “Major Winters still lives” came over me. Actually, he had died days before, but had enough clout to keep it out of the paper’s until after his private interment, to protect his family. Weird.

He was such a great American actor it was hard for me to believe he was British. Standing by the Jeep with ammo as they are headed off into the Ardennes he used the word ’situation’ It was the only word that wasn’t perfect and I only noticed it on the nth watching. He was brilliant. I knit a lot of Christmas gifts that fall. I didn’t know where they found all the actors I had never seen before but it was brilliant. It’s great we get to see these actors instead of the usual American ones.
