Before kids were mostly playing for fun, now they have coaches from 12 years old playing with all they have so their bodies have an extra 5 years of wear and tear from the start. Also modern basketball require more from the knees and ankles, you have to defend a much larger area, big man specially were able to just camp the paint and not move much during defense but now they have to defend the 3 point line.

Broken bones, bruises, etc, were considered just a normal part of playing sports, no matter what age. Nowadays with kids in sports, it is actually more about having fun and not bumping and tackling as heavily as they used to.

I feel the same. I'm only 31, 32 soon. And I'm always seeing people online talk about how when you reach 30, you suddenly always walk around in pain and easily get hurt or you're always tired. I can't relate at all to that. I'm still lifting weights like I was in my 20s. I'm honestly in my prime physically both in the way I feel and the way I look. Maybe I'll hit a wall eventually. Father time catches up to everyone. But I can relate to Damien.

I think one thing is that alot of wwe's current top stars didnt get into wwe till their early / mid to late 30s. Guys like kevin owens, finn balor, sami zayn, aj styles, that indy / Tna and new japan talent spent their younger years outside of wwe that compared to the vets like cena, oroton, taker or even a carlito look older by comparison. Specifically the ruthless agression era, if you only watched wwe then guys like a cena, orton, HHH, taker and so on look older to you because you watched them grow, meanwhile you didnt seen guys kevin owens, AJ styles, damien priest and so on till that 2015-2019 span of time and theyre all in the same age range

Most of the "legends" and "big names" in wrestling hit their peak at 38. But more often than not the "I can't do that, I'm too old" isn't coming from the guys who already have WWE contracts and have been touring the world for years. It's the guys who are still in the indies, have only been wrestling a year or two, or who haven't even started training. I mean I had a promoter ask me why I don't wrestle and I was just like "have you LOOKED at me? I'm 38, I'm way out of shape, never done a day of training in my life, I'm not even going to pretend that watching old UPW training tapes on VHS or Santino Bros videos on KZbin count for anything because it's not like I've physically done anything." Would I love to get into it? Sure. But realistically those guys who "hit their peak" at MY age got started on that path at least two decades earlier. I mean look at Rey Mysterio. Dude was wrestling at what, 14? 15?
