I lost my hearing in 2005 and up until last year I couldn't hear music so what a revelation Damien Leith was to my ears! First heard him sing Hallelujah at The Basement and was hooked. No wonder he won. He's amazing.

@MegF142857 ... not only a scientist and singer/songwriter... Damien also writes (published 2 novels) AND he's getting 9's on Dancing with the Stars... PLUS is a totally sweet, down to earth guy. He's the ultimate Renaissance Man :-)

Paulene Agupitan nailed this song from the Philippines.

The guy who actually wrote this song just died a little while back (jsut a few days ago)... I'm sure it was in response to listening to this guy performing it.

harsh... i thought it was pretty good. do you have any idea how difficult it is to sing that song? it's spelt "whether" in this context, by the way.

Clay aiken FTW FTW FTW, you know why???, cause he'll end up crushing this foo if they were to sing at each other.. Go clay aiken, boo damien leeith w/e he is..
@Spazzam16 жыл бұрын
When people sing they all sound the same. You can pick up slight differences but overall its like another worldwide accent in itself.

What is it with this guy singing hugely famous songs......several keys lower than their original versions? What's so great about that? If I'd been a competitor I would have come out on stage after him and sung the same songs (this and Orbison's 'Crying') IN THE CORRECT KEYS. That would've been awkward, wouldn't it? LOL
@somebody42442 жыл бұрын
What’s awkward is that Orbison sung it low as well and you don’t seem to know that before commenting.
@steeltrap38002 жыл бұрын
@@somebody4244 Orbison was famous for, amongst many things, always singing his songs in their original keys right up until he died. Indeed he'd done a concert a day or two before he died (can't remember exactly) and every song was performed in the same key as when originally released. I've read two biographies of his and they both made the exact opposite point from what you're claiming. I also know someone who sang as a backing vocalist with him on tour in the 70s and she told me exactly the same thing, too. So I'm curious to hear about the "sung (sic) it low"; have you a recording or source you can provide? If true, I'll have learned something, and that's never a bad thing. Until then, however, I'll stick with what every source I've ever read or heard says, which is he never altered the keys from their originals. Cheers

I think he controlling his voice,i want see him to hit and sustain those notes loudly (belting)...but i think his voice had a limit and if he over pass his comfort zone in singing its out of tune,however love his smooth and calm voice ;)
@duvy123416 жыл бұрын
This is one of the hardest songs to sing in the world. I thought he did well, but Dan England sang it much better. Damien's voice is to soft has to be a bit deeper. But I like Damien's lonely river part better.

Im sure Damien Leith would be oh so upset also that you didnt like it.

a Pity, his starting note was great.. and it then fell apart when he did a boring monotonous singing... weird though he has the skill and he surely can sing, i guess this what they called the feeling not there? to me it's boring.. current american idol has great peoples in it adam, kriss and the big oil guy,
