Oh yess, I was here, it was a very emotional show. I believe he didnt say a single word during this performance (Except the singing). This is what I love about him, if he doesn’t feel like talking he doesn’t. If he is happy you will know and he will make lots of jokes. He never fakes to be happy or whatever, his shows are so real. 💛

I’ve to thank you for those damien Rice reaction videos. He deserve to be known and discovered by the most. I’ve always think that the blower’s daughter is basically a song about infatuations. For me, blower’s daughter is always to intend like a thought of a moment, like Something that was carried by the wind. So strong but also quick and ethereal. This version was good but to be completely understood you need to listen the original version with Lisa Hanningan and specially the end of the song when Damien says “i cant take my mind off of you…till i find somebody new”. Any way, the Blower’s Daughter is his most famous song.

I’m amazed so many Americans haven’t heard of him. His music, voice and lyrics etc.. are beautiful. I wish he would come to American and tour. Can listen to a full album and love every song. Brilliant

Wauwww! Beautiful! I once saw Damien Rice and he was in a very loud rocking mood that night. I prefer him with only a guitar. This is in Carré in Amsterdam, beautiful venue. Few years ago I went to see Glen Hansard there. I'll send you a request and donation for him. After discovering Damien Rice you need to know about that other red bearded Irish man with a guitar 😄

I was there at this concert in Amsterdam Carre. He definitely was in a different mood. Came up. not a word with the audience. did his whole thing.. even a few songs complete acapella and left. It was amazing

Can i suggest to listen Damien singing “Stoic” is one new song still unreleased. He is a genius, but is really really slow with new albums. He take his job as a passion and as something really serious, so he take all the time he need to be convinced about his works.

Ok, I googled the backstory for you, but there is no consensus. One says it’s about the daughter of his clarinet teacher. The other says it’s about a woman he talked to while he was working at a call centre. They were building a connection, but when he went to her house, she turned out to be 16 and she was just playing with him. The last one says ‘The term blower's daughter is an old term that refers to a girl who is free spirited and goes with the breeze, unbound, unowned. All this clarinet and glass stuff is ridiculous.’
