Players have lives after football, and I’m scared he’s going to have severe problems years down the road. I’m really glad that he was able to play his way into a contract before this happened, but most importantly he’s a good kid that it would be really sad to see have his life ruined by this happening repeatedly. It’s 100% time for Tua to retire. He was completely knocked out. You could tell when he hit the ground his body went stiff. I watch a lot of UFC and you can tell when a person is completely knocked unconscious. As Tua was walking down the side line you could see him say “what happened”. It’s time to step away.

You wanted to get the first down.I blame the current rules in the n.F.L he should have been able to dive forward.Head first towards the ground and basically roll for the first or dive for the first.And then it'd be touched down.But instead he knew idiot , the first and established himself as a runner , so he tried to stay up

For a man that has an issue with concussions he should know by now to slide feet first. Why try and challenge a defender by running head first into them. Totally could have been avoided if he had the presents of mind to protect himself and slide feet first. Wish Tua all the best in life going forward and if he decides to keep playing use his feet instead of his head. If he decides to retire I am all for it. As silly as some people find it or they laugh about it. Anyone who plays and has had multiple concussions should maybe be forced to wear the gaurdian cap. I saw the play and he kinda jammed his neck a little but who knows it might have helped.

@qatarworldcupwinnermessi I agree with you on Tua for sure. It just sucks you know. I'm just saying that maybe he might not have even had the first really nasty one on with the gaurdian cap on because on that one he smacked his head on the ground. Maybe they should start talking about limits to how many you can have.
@RichardBurr-Carrothers2 күн бұрын
Tua is a magnificent player, he has no worries there. He was having a bad day and was feeling the pressure to perform. He saw an opportunity to get the first down and made a bad decision. Just because a man knows his limitations, does not automatically mean he has the restraint to respect those limitations.

This will come down to money. Everyone is saying he has "already secured the bag" but he really hasn't... Tua just signed a 4 year $212 million contract with $167 million guaranteed; he is unlikely to voluntarily walk away and retire this season. Walking away voluntarily will void his guarantees, at a minimum he'll stick around this year and collect about $50 million I suspect he'll be cleared in a few weeks and continue his career... The Dolphins are on the hook for the majority of his guarantees if he is deemed medically unable or unfit to play...I think the nature of concussions makes that determination difficult; I can see teams forcing the NFL to make changes in the future, maybe deeming a player unfit after a specific number of concussions in a span of time...but obv. the NFLPA would fight that Prayers Up to Tua...regardless of what he decides for his family and future
@sJ-ls8pw6 күн бұрын
Tua won't retire. He, and his family ALL want to see him continue playing and somehow get a 2nd contract in a position where the contracts have become ridiculous and then be able to hold a clipboard in the league as an eventual veteran QB making millions never to be asked to play again.
