people think all actors or stars of movies make alot of money but though he was popular as a rapper at the time it wasn't a top notch Hollywood production and he wasn't known person in Hollywood he wasn't gonna get a big ass salary. Stifler(SWC) from American Pie only got 8k for it and he had done work previously it wasn't till the last film he and the other main guy got $5 mill salaries for American Pie and even still compared to alot of others salaries it isn't much for a actor who has been a lead in very successful films previously. I mean the 1st film cost $11mill and made over $250mill even beating out Tom Cruise and Kevin spacey films and your best character was paid less than 10k. I just read about Keanu Reeves getting paid 2-2.5mill for John Wick 2...really? the lead guy from the very successful Matrix films? your lead guy from the 1st John Wick? It's no surprise Cam'ron was paid that much I'm only ever surprised when newcomers are paid a surprisingly large amount.

The Friday cast only got a couple grand. And you wonder why Chris doesn't want to do another movie. lol
@Crates948 жыл бұрын
then why did he do the first one? Because he was a nobody stand up comedan and that movie happened to shoot him to stardom. Im pretty sure they wouldnt have gotten a couple of grand for part two, they probably would've made alotmore with Chris Tucker being that he was a star by then. Providing that they had residuals in their contracts.
@Robdee9998 жыл бұрын
1st. He did the first one because he wanted to be in movies. 2nd. He wasn't a "nobody stand up comedian." He was killing it on Def Comedy Jam before Friday 3rd. Yes, he wouldn't have gotten a couple grand for Next Friday but I'm 1000% sure Rush Hour paid more than what Cube was willing to pay Chris. 4th. "Hood Movies" don't pay as much and they only go so far. So with that I go back to my original comment, and you wonder why Chris doesn't want to do another movie. Also to add, Rush Hour: 33 Million Dollar Budget, Gross over 200 Million Next Friday: 11 Million Dollar Budget, Gross 59 Million You tell me which movie would you pick? And you only can pick 1 because he started filming Rush Hour 2 during the same time Next Friday was being filmed.
@Crates948 жыл бұрын
Robdee999 I'm not debating his financial choices, I'm saying that by the way that you worded that comment, it seems like you were celebrating the concept of forgetting the people/situation that got you where you are once you hit greener pastures.. but hey, for some people that's the American way, right? Here's the kicker... Chris has been in exactly ONE movie since Rush Hour 3 came out in '07, while Cube has starred in, written, or directed 31 theatrical feature films since Friday came out, with about EIGHTEEN (Yes, 18) since Rush Hour 3. Now you tell ME which career would you pick if you wanted to "be in movies".
@rashanswint64838 жыл бұрын
+HowToMakeBeats boom
@Robdee9998 жыл бұрын
HowToMakeBeats So you're saying Chris owes everyone that got him where he is at something? Just because Cube put him in Friday doesn't mean he is forever in debt to Cube. And your last statement is hollow, do you really think Chris Tucker isn't in movies because he can't or by choice? So the amount of movies someone has done is not only a weak point, it's irrelevant. And to further bury that point, would you rather do 20 movies for 20 million or 1 movie for 20 million?

from what i understand, in these cases, when he agreed to act in that movie,he signed away any royalties he would have gotten. I bet dame adsorbed all the money cam was supposed to get.
@alexanderthegreat56498 жыл бұрын
Ehh it's not really signing rights away or what he was "supposed" to get its what's negotiated in contract talks. Not all actors even principle actors in films get rights to box office cuts and DVD and royalties. like recently the cast of "Big Bang Theory"(main cast) held out and renegotiated larger salaries: 1st 3 seasons they were making $60k per episode and that was it at the time they weren't in big position to demand more, 4th season they demanded $200k then next 3 seasons up 50k each time plus. 25% of the shows back end profits. Now being in a better position the 3 main members negotiated $1mill per episode for 3 seasons plus a 4th option this is unprecedented for a show to have a actor make $1mill a episode let alone 3 including a female who are notoriously underpaid in contrast to males. Only other person banking like that was Charlie Sheen the last seasons of 2 and a half men making $2mill a episode and on his show after that(which had 100 episodes $200mill off of that alone? crazy) anyway yeah back to the cast plus they demanded 1% now which might not seem like much but that means every single time the show airs on anything tv, Netflix, Hulu they get 1% show made money from a new deal? they get their 1%. Think the studio would've offered them that? If they never said anything I guarantee they would still be at the 1st contract salary. Won't keep rambling to you, but 1 more example I watched a documentary on the "City of God" film 10years later(don't know if you seen it.) and the main kid Rocket was offered 10k reales Idk how much that is compared to usd not alot but alot for their money or 10%of the gross. Movie only costs 3mill to make and made 33mill made its money back 11fold and he took the 10k. he would've had 3mill right? it's those negotiations man you gotta have good representation. I've thought about being in those situations if I was a actor(not a A-list but someone who gets steady work) and had to choose either or unless I'm getting $5mill minimum salary I'd always bet on the 10% box office the movie could be a flop and I could still come out better anything over $50mill and I'm getting more than the salary especially if you do your research on the production. Gimme 10% box office of a marvel film over a $5mill salary any day of the week. it's worst film made a ton of money.
@luismejia65587 жыл бұрын
CharlieBrown. thats alot of money
@michaeltruthson62626 жыл бұрын

They had no clue it would blow like that. Nowadays actors match the percentage if a movie does well. Had he done it right, he would've gotten paid 8500 plus a % of the future earnings if it does right

Looks like everyone (apart from maybe Dash) received the shaft on that film. The real life "Ace" AZ Faison has stated that despite Paid in Full grossing millions and enjoying a successful home video run, he hasn't seen any residuals.
