Worked a Damn Yankees show in Alabama....got to meet Ted...His daughter was with him...She was stunningly beautiful....They were a great live band....Ted shot a flaming arrow into a guitar during the show

You can add "Bad Reputation" and "Silence Is Broken" to the list. "Come Again" was probably their best track from their two studio albums, a Tommy Shaw classic that would have fit beautifully on "The Grand Illusion" album.

The Damn Yankees were one of the last great supergroups to come out of the 80's, along with such bands as Bad English and Asia. Sadly, they only lasted a few years, but the music they left behind is simply incredible. Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades were meant to sing together...they would record another album together as Shaw/Blades after the Damn Yankees had run their course. You should DEFINITELY check out more of their music.

In any interview they are asked they always say when their schedules allow they will get together again, I sure hope so. They made great music together. I feel like musically they respected one another.

Tommy Shaw lead singer & lead guitarist from Styx, Jack Blades lead singer and bassist from Night Ranger, Michael Cartellone relatively unknown when he got with Damn Yankees, but became a long-time drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd after his time with the Yanks, and the Motorcity Madman himself, Terrible Ted Nugent, one of rock's all-time great, still surviving guitarist that needs no introduction anywhere in the free world. Now that's a damn power band!!

The whole album is fantastic. Too bad they came together when the market was flooded with unidentifiable hair bands that lead to the grunge movement. They would have been huge if they had more time together.

100% agree! They had it all. Multiple vocalists, great harmonies, and the musical talent and songwriting is undeniable. This album came out when I was in the Marines in 91' and it was just FIRE! 🔥🔥🔥 That damn solo by Uncle Ted gets me every time! 🎸🎸🎸

They did come to late if it was 1983 they would have crushed it. But when you get two many big egos together it dissolves. Like every super group in history except for the traveling wilburys, members dying killed that group.

Shaw and Blades wrote a few songs on Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood album. I know Same Old Situation was one of them and I think Dont Go Away Mad was the other.

I watched an interview with Ted Nugent a few years ago. He said that he had enough material for 4 or 5 really good Damn Yankee albums and 2 to 3 decent Damn Yankee albums, but Tommy and Jack were not interested in a reunion.

@@purplebeard1526 I know Ted Nugent and Shaw both perfomed in the Texas Jam Concert where headliner Styx was nearly booed off the stage for the "Kilroy Was Here" album and Tommy was at odds with the rest of Styx. He may have expressed his displeasure to Nugent backstage. I was at that concert BTW, it was one for the history books!

I saw them live back in 91 at the Norfolk Naval Air Station. The put on a free concert for the military. I was in the Navy then and I caught the drum stick at that concert. I still have the drum stick too.
