Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Ratchaburi, Thailand

28 September 2024 - Visiting the floating market was a unique and unforgettable experience that was high on our bucket list. The day started with clear skies, scorching heat, and humidity but ended with a dramatic storm and pouring rain in the evening, adding to the adventure.
The canals, known as "khlongs" in Thai, are man-made and historically served as a means of transportation. European visitors called this area the "Venice of the East." This market has existed for the past 100 years and is one of Thailand's most famous floating markets.
The market was mainly for tourists and was so busy that we got stuck between others. As expected, the engine failed in the middle of our trip, but luckily, others helped our skipper, and we were on our way quickly. I was stunned by how polluted the air was. Sometimes, it wasn't easy to breathe with all the smoke. However, it was a fantastic experience, and I recommend trying it when visiting Thailand. #travelblogger
