He's a beautiful guy. Looks like a real person. Not overwhelming stylized or airbrushed

The first time I heard Everyday Robots I was stuck in traffic at the Dartford tunnel. I thought it felt strangely fitting for the mood.

Yep, I've been stuck in L.A. traffic too many times. The song captures that mood well.

Exactly. Parklife is actually Modern Life 2 with 2 side-twists musically (GirlsBoys and Parklife). All others could have well been on Modern Life.

Ok, look at England now and you can't disagree with what Damon says here. But it's also kind of hypocrit, I think, because Gorillaz also made England more american. Blur seems to be the conservative part of Damon as Gorillaz seems to be his progressive part, for better or for worse. Maybe I'm going a bit too political here, sorry...
@xxczerxx2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting take. I do find it staggering how broad the appeal of Gorillaz is, they're a very "international" band. Compared to say, Blur as you mentioned, who are decidedly British and wouldn't appeal to -- for example -- Asians in the same way.

off to play modern life, and yes he was right, you cant even type on your phone without an American correcting you on how to spell in ENGLISH, are we the last generation?

Coggy Sprockets Damon was talking about the UK turning into the US: "homogenisation of culture". That's where he got that from. It's not about feeling above another nation, it's about trying to retain a nation's sense of identity.

Teague Hipkiss Both America and Britain are horrible nations. How many cultures did Britain destroy and continue to destroy through their British Empire. America is just an extension of Britain.

Shade On A Cool Day That's fine to say/think, but US and UK are different. They can both be horrible but still have significantly different cultures.
@steveachealo897 жыл бұрын
You couldn't be more wrong there. No the reason why they're both cultural powerhouses is because they're so similar, they feed off of each other.

Its all right to talk about countries like America transforming culture and changing it for the worse ..but the real threat was never from there
