It’s been wonderful watching him evolve from a cocky boy during Blur and Brit Pop days through to Gorillaz,. Love this! …and speaking as a 64 year old woman I haven’t seen someone rock a mullet as awesome as Damon’s! ❣️

Who says that? Sure, people who listened to him while he was in Blur are like 35 now, but that's still not really old, and we all know he acquired a whole new audience with the success of the last few Gorillaz albums. I'd argue that most of his fans are tenegaers no matter what part of his career you look at because those are the people most willing to be absorbed by the experience of his music

The first time I heard this song was during Damon's performance at 'MIF' (Manchester International Festival) on July 12th of this year. It was the first concert/festival I had attended by myself. On the day of the said concert, I had travelled 4 hours from London to Manchester, so I was initially tired. However, as we neared the performance, the tiredness I once felt seemed to dissolve, replaced with an exceeding eagerness. So much so that I convinced my cousin and best friend to be at the venue an hour early. Of course, my enthusiasm had got the better of me as we were there too early, forced to sit in the deafening silence of the hall, waiting. I remember feeling an odd mix of nervousness and impatience, yearning for what was to come, keen to see Damon. The masses came pilling in, and the show began to start. There he was. The lights dimmed, the fog machine turned on, the ambience thick. Then, the music. A surge of adrenaline washed over me, intertwining with my very person, coursing through my veins in a flurry of emotion. The feeling, so real I could almost taste it. And it tasted sweet, like nectar, sent from the Gods. I indulged in it. My eyes were glued to the screen, unmoving as I took it all in. The musicians bathed in the blazing light, making them look almost ethereal as they poured out their hearts and showcased their talents. It was surreal. I felt effervescent. It was almost as if the pure awesomeness of the music had a bubbling physicality to it. My ears adapted a volcanic like quality, erupting from the magnificence of the sound. It was, most undeniably, one of the most monumental moments of my life. A memory that I will cherish forever. Even now, when I close my eyes, I can picture it all in its breathtaking glory.

To watch someone really be taken away by the music is nothing less than an ABRACADABRA moment; and thankfully enough, watching Damon perform anything; you’re/me are unbelievably lucky to witness it every time. Music is classless, if your ear likes it, it likes it. I’m 53, and I can’t tell you why I’ve only just started listening to his music, I just have: AND it’s monumentally BRILLIANT..!!

Dude, awesome, Damon nailed with this version of Polaris, really different in comparison from the original played in boiler room.
