i live in croatia and my grandpa was a diver, he found an ancient roman amphora underwater and ive had it on a shelf ever since. being close to it and being able to touch what an ancient roman person touched makes me feel INSANE the feeling is addictive thats my favorite way of connecting with history other than learning

As a former prehistoric archaeologist I’m loving that you’re geeking out about stonehenge 😭 also the way that we believed they transported the monoliths is not that interesting - experimental archaeologists believe that they were rolled across logs. An experiment was done with similar rocks and it does actually work

I went to Pompeii few years ago. Just walking around the streets and in some of the villas makes you realize that this was habitated before 79ad. You can even find finger prints in som of the mortar between the stones. Makes it all real

The answer to where you were at at the 6:16 mark was Castle Combe! It's my personal favourite of the Cotswold villages. Burford is probably a close second in terms of beauty.
