Man and woman in perfect harmony with the materials👍 BTW, two people working together get three times as much done as one person in the same time.😉👍

Beautiful mix. I went down the lime mortar rabbit hole months ago. Circling back to this video sums it up perfectly. If you are going mad watching videos about lime mortar and period correct pointing, save this video. You can watch as many French farm wall restoration videos as you want. This is all you need to know.

Very nice introductory tutorial. Your narration was spot on. The background music is always great. I liked your technique for bridging the crack. Great solution :) All the best!

A KZbin resource for stone work; ModernPracticalStonemason and for brickwork, Rob Songer. The depth of knowledge in the old "illiterate" building traditions is profound. Many times the problems with old houses are due to the changes in lifestyle of the people using them, that take the structure out of its' intended technical envelope. Once out of that intended range all technical solutions are experimental. Thanks for posting your journey.

😂 you got style It's really looking good. Wondering if the mortar came out the other side of the big crack! I wonder why the damp made that symmetrical pattern

The wall turned out beautifully! Do you apply something on the stones to make them pop? Something like stone oil or something? Is there a good way to do that? 🎉
@TheRenovationProject8 ай бұрын
No, although when dampened (to help the lime cure slowly) they tend to pop. I was concerned about the discolouration of some of the stones (damp stains perhaps), but they don't look bad in the end. Cheers.
