Damping-off in Young Seedlings

I tried this on my own many years ago and have hardly lost any seedlings in the last 10 years- JUST SPRINKLE DRY DIRT ON SURFACE WHERE THE FUNGUS TRAVELS. THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO DO.

Beneficial Bacteria is the answer.Good fungi stops the bad fungi from getting a hold.

Re using potting medium is just fine depending on what you are using. I use peat moss, aeration. and compost. Just add some new compost after your cycle along w a few amendments as a top dress and your good to go

Silvi V she did say it can spread but they have a higher rate of survival if you remove affected plants or healthy ones to new containers

I have a question it's probably not the smartest thing in the world but I'm on a shoestring budget I got dampening off on a tray of vegetables I have uprooted all the plants I have heard that sometimes hydrogen peroxide slows down or even stops dampening off so I was wondering as I have also heard of the antifungal properties in cinnamon do you think that if I spray the surface of the soil with the peroxide then apply cinnamon liberally and re-spray The peroxide do you think it will kill off the damn thing off fungus I know I'm probably reaching out but I need to ask someone who probably knows more about gardening then myself and looking into your greenhouse there looks like you know what you're doing so what do you think?

Bleach is going to kill the microbes in your soil isn't it.If you add good Fungi then this shouldn't be an issue.I have had an issue with damping off in over 10yrs since I stated using beneficial bacteria.I guess the reason you have so much of an issue is because you don't pay attention to creating a good microbe count.Treat your seeds and soil with microbes before planting and this should solve your issue.

I've learned how to prevent damping off with no chemicals. Just keep the ground disturbed around your plants and above all don't overheat your flats.
