wow the headsculpt really make Claire's baby-face stand out. maybe that's why they decided to make the classic version first as they know they'll have problems making the remake leather jacket. if I get this figure I guess I could pose her sans jacket for that endgame look, but I really dislike how it looks so similar to new Tomb Raider (but that is a me problem). the accessories are amazing but that is sort of expected of Dam Toys. nice review as usual. :)

How have you been, my friend~ Claire lookin' like Lara Croft is definitely not a "you" problem 🤣 I, for one, got that vibe on my first Remake play through. A friend of mine who happened to see me edit this video thought this was Tomb Raider too. Interesting take though, I never thought twice about why Damtoys announced the Classic Costume Claire before the default costume...now the plot thickens like my gravy. Either ways, hope all's well!

@@ElbearToys it's just a peeve of mine since 2008 style should be spaghetti straps and belly shirts instead of Tomb Raider 2018ish style. I am fine. Just adding to the figure collection and playing video games. Speaking of figure and video games I wonder who is going to make figures of RE4 Remake. It's a very popular game right now and the designs are.. okay.

Hello friend! Yeah...this figure is already too tall. And with that jacket, Claire head looks a bit too small in comparison. This is especially jarring when you pose Claire using the RE2 bonus model viewer as reference 😔

I just finished piecing my claire together from 2 sellers on ebay, she costed when said and done about 200, the head being the most, now im doing a custom wesker (stars) and its murder because the only heads out there are un painted.

Agreed 🤣🤣🤣 The only horror protagonist from games of this era (to my recollection at least) who actually has some reactions to the surrounding situation is Fiona from Haunting Ground. Otherwise everyone else just looks like it's another day at the office for them.

Jacket can be modified to fit better if you are willing to sacrifice a bit of jacket materials. Cut off the shoulder pads. Cut off the inner linings. Shrink the jacket with warm water but take care not to shrink the sleeves. Condition with leather conditioner. The head from the classic version is slightly better, so if you want a better look, use the classic head

I'd love to try modding the jacket but I have zero crafting skills so I'm gonna mess it up for sure 😅 But yeah, I just got the Classic Costume Claire this week and it looks noticeably better. Sadly though, mine came with a paint scuff on the forehead so I'm tryna get a replacement. Hopefully they'll send me one from the Classic Costume batch... Thanks for watching~

@@chsohu2005 Dang...that sucks 😔 May I suggest reaching out to whoever your retailer is and ask for an exchange? Now's the best time since Damtoys just released the figure so there should be enough spare parts to go around. Imagine getting this one from the aftermarket in the future only to find out there's a misprint 🫣 The print on my copy is fortunately OK. Not "pixel perfect" for the lack of a better term, but it's nowhere near as bad as the overlapping prints that I've seen online. Best of luck!

On the fence about cancelling my preorders now for both versions. The sad thing is, I've been waiting for a decent Resident Evil Claire Redfield figure for so long! Her jacket looks way too bulky and the paint applications are meh. For the asking price, everything should be near perfect and very similar to the advertised photos on the packaging. Ohh is there another one in the works? Despite the plot being the typical RE tomfoolery, I quite enjoyed the fan service that is Infinite Darkness. Hopefully the next one will be more like that instead of the atrocity that is the live action series (I still watched it because of Lance Reddick, RIP).

Despite how Claire turned out, I'm still super stoked for a potential Damtoys RE4 Leon 🤩 That Micah, though, is the first one from Master Team that I'm not sold...I also got that feeling from their Elden Ring Melina and Ranni the Witch, so let's see how those turn out first.

The most tragic though, is that Claire is only in RE2 so there probably won't be a re-issue. As opposed to Leon, who's potentially getting another figure from the new RE4. Hopefully that would change if Capcom ever decides to remake Code Veronica.

The oversized jacket on this one used to bother me until I got the figure in hand. Plus it looks like something Chris would've given her. It's much more forgivable compared to the Classic version. The buttons falling off, weak knife holster adhesive, and horrendous "Made In Heaven" printing on the jacket are unacceptable at that price point.

Love your take. Chris definitely would be the type of brother that would get his sister a jacket that's a lil big. And that's why I love reading comments here 😊 But yeah, my Classic Claire came with a scuff on her forehead. The costume overall doesn't sit well at all. The "Made In Heaven" print is surprisingly OK on mine, though with the amount of repeated accessories and middle-of-the-road build quality, the heavy price tag become difficult to justify.

I paid 130€ for the locomotive girl. I changed the body and boots and I like it better than the Damtoys for 290€. Really not worth it. The body is so stiff without double joints and and the neck is so long. Not very posable. The jacket from the locomotive girl looks cheap but fits so much better.

Also Claire is meant to be 1,69m, Leon 1,80m and Chris 1,85m. She should be small.

Despite how much I didn't like the UB Toys one out of the box, I think it's got the proper size. And after knowing that you had some success modding the UB Toys Claire, I'm thinking I should mix and match the two and see what I can get out of it 😁

@@ElbearToys I think if the Damtoys were cheaper. Maybe 220-230€ it would be great. But now asking 300$ for every release its ridiculous. Specialy with all those issues. Why Ada is 300$? No clue. I made a kitbash version for around 150€. Now if the locomotive girl jacket rots I wont be sad, I just buy a new jacket. I love Damtoys figures and quality but the prices are going up and quality down

Oh that's an excellent observation. Your comment actually prompted me to look again at Claire in Infinite Darkness and the upcoming Death Island. Her hair looks more auburn than in RE2R. Hopefully there's a next figure potential there 🤔

@@ElbearToys suggest you get the kotobukiya 1/6 scale for leon and chris. Ada wong pants be careful , it was easily chipped off. Specially if you use the stand. Much better to use the waist holder. . Had to quit the 1/6 of resident evil. I hate the HT quality

Oh for sure. Damtoys' hair sculpt is very rough around the edges. I do hope they'll one day be able to get to Hot Toys level (their ANH Luke is a great example of the fine and silky hair texture that Leon and Claire should've gotten).
