Still looking for any examples of Dan's OCD. He doesn't seem to have any symptoms that he can even describe and I think he's just exaggerating a simple anxiety disorder. I wouldn't ever say that about anyone but Dan is essentially a proven pathological liar who specifically lies about his life to get pity and attention. He lied about being homeless, he hid the fact his grandma funded basically his entire career, etc. At first I felt for Dan and his diagnosis until other people tried opening up about their OCD to him and then the "symptoms" he described had absolutely nothing to do with OCD. No compulsive rituals to cope with anxiety, no examples of how it affects him. No, just a dumb story about throwing his meds into a lake because he "didn't need them anymore" which is absolutely NOT how OCD works. At all. He's not a sweet ND boy, he's a serial manipulator and habitual liar.

I mean, that's certainly how he's branded himself. He basically filled out a DND character sheet and decided that was his new identity. I have special interests as someone with autism and I don't literally talk about how I have them every chance I get. Dan doesn't ever talk about dinosaurs, or Rush, he just talks about how much he likes them and spews very surface level trivia about them when pressed. Remember in Ocarina of Time when he clearly stayed up late memorizing all of Rush's albums and basically begged Arin to ask him to recite them after awkwardly bringing it up? He was bragging, that's all. He wants to seem super into prog and at some time decided liking a specific dinosaur was quirky, so he built a persona around it. He went to school for marketing and it shows. He's absolutely obsessed with marketing and branding himself.
@RenSako3 ай бұрын
@@ripleydrawsandthingsNah, he's more of a "pretends to be a musician" person. His only musical talent or skill is singing, and he can't even do that. Brian writes all of NSP's music- with TWRP now- and all he's ever done musically otherwise is sing. Skyhill? Someone else wrote the music. His new project? He literally just sings and it took so much post processing to make him sound decent whatsoever you can barely make out what he's saying. He's not a musician, he just knows musicians and how to use them to build a career through minimal effort of his own. Dude knows literally jack shit about music and whenever he tries to discuss it he's completely wrong about literally everything or is just shitting on pop music because he thinks being a contrarian makes him a better musician. He still talks shit on people who close one ear when they sing because he doesn't know that they do it so they can better hear their own voice. Maybe if he tried doing that himself instead of being an ignorant loser he would be able to sing better, but he's too busy being a pretentious fraud so that his underage female fans will want to sleep with him. He was my favorite grump for several years until I realized he was lying about basically everything. It's even worse because the things he lied about were the reasons I respected him.

@@RenSako I will admit, I don’t think that Dan has autism, though I do relate to him as an autistic person. However, I will say that, while Dan certainly has a persona that he plays, he seems genuinely interested in the things he talks about. He didn’t choose to like the stegosaurus because it was quirky, but because he liked it as a kid. He even tells a story about his teacher getting angry at him because he wouldn’t stop drawing and talking about them. In other words, does Dan have a business? Yes. But do I think that everything about him is manufactured? Not even close.

I actually thinks this makes things harder for people. I also dont think it's healthy to see symptoms in other people's behavior. Autism is way more complicated than a list of behaviors and i dont like the way this video frames it
@ripleydrawsandthings3 ай бұрын
I’m very sorry, I never meant to show Dan in this light, nor show autism as just a list of behaviors to be checked off. I have already been told that it could be harmful to speculate Dan as autistic. In the future, I will be sure to preface by saying that, while Dan is not autistic, some of the things he does are relatable to me. Also, he does have OCD, and quite a few traits happens to intersect between OCD and autism. This video is also meant for relatability, humor, and neurodivergent joy. It isn’t exactly academic, just things I’ve noticed the boys do that are relatable to me and my friends, who are all across the neurodivergent spectrum. I am only using what I see in myself and others - I would never just slap a label on someone because they had a few traits I saw on a TikTok one time. I know you’ve probably seen a lot of that, which is why you left this comment. Rest assured that this video was well-researched through life experience. :) If you would like a more academic video, one that shows all sides of autism and ADHD, I have a Bluey video that goes in depth with examples of the reasons why I think they are both neurodivergent. If you want a more complete view of autism and ADHD, that may be the video for you! If you ever feel uncomfortable again, or need clarification, please let me know! This is all just for fun - I don’t want to make anyone feel bad.

I mean, I know Arin's ND, as we can actively see him struggle with his symptoms, but are we really still entertaining Dan's "OCD"? Dude can't even describe his symptoms or what OCD is, and when he tries to he's wrong. He's only ever treated OCD as quirky perfectionism, which it explicitly isn't. He's 100% lying and seeing all the other folks open up to him about their OCD just to have him bumble and dodge their questions and refuse to elaborate on anything except "I'm good with numbers" and "I got better and bravely threw my meds into a lake" is just outright disrespectful and harmful. Life with OCD is hard enough when half the people don't pay it any mind or even acknowledge I have it, yet some lying rich kid can pretend to have it on KZbin and everyone sucks him off. Then again, he's pretending to be a musician too, and that's going just as well somehow despite his only musical ability being "singing" in a weak, monotone head voice. Yet people treat Arin like the literal devil because he doesn't like fucking Sonic
@ripleydrawsandthings3 ай бұрын
I’m sorry you feel that way. It sucks when you feel like a huge part of yourself isn’t accommodated or noticed by the people around you. However, I will say that I will probably make more GG content in the future, and if you dislike half of the subject matter, then my videos may not be for you. It’s okay to dislike celebrities or their work - in fact, it’s healthy! With parasocial relationships running rampant, it’s good that you know and can express when you don’t like a celebrity. But just because you see part of their life on a screen doesn’t mean you know what their OCD looks like, or how they struggle now. Your story may not look like their’s, and that’s okay. But KZbinrs are people too, with lives away from their videos. This means there’s a lot of things you don’t see, and it’s impossible to judge a person based on only their content.
@espeoradar3 ай бұрын
my guy I think it's time to stop interacting with grumps content if you hate Dan this much (I've seen the essays you left on other comments) as someone else whose OCD has been reduced to mostly harmless background noise following treatment, I'd say there's a chance Dan's just isn't as severe as it can get, like mine, which honestly I'm damn grateful about. sure he could just be lying, how tf are we to know? but even if he is lying, that doesn't mean you have to bring yourself down by interacting with his content and that made about him. if this is an Obsession, I get it, but at a point you become responsible for your reactions to your symptoms, especially if it leads to you to interacting with things that upset you. stay away from grumps content, maybe take a break from KZbin altogether if need be, cus right now this doesn't seem like a healthy response to a video someone made of something that makes them happy.
