Personally i think the club is an absolute mess and it rubs off on every signing. I think if Deligt, Mazaroui, Yoro, Holjund signed for city or liverpool, they would all be cooking. This Dan Ashworth removal kind of reminds me of Rangnick, comes in with ideas of his role at the club likely meets roadblocks from the glazers everywhere and is dismissed as a trouble maker. New manager used as an excuse and fans direct all their attention to the manager because thats all they know about manchester united. Same pattern since Moyes. My faith in INEOS is plummeting. No patience for Ten Hag AFTER giving him the extension AND refreshing his staff. Then bringing in a manager, with a completely new staff, who plays with wingbacks and very likely doesn't suit some of our promising players. Fighting for Ashworth with Newcastle only to sack him in 5 months. And to top it off sacking 250 hard working people on average wages and raising ticket prices to make savings that they waste on stupid appointments and sackings. Honestly, in a completely different way, but it doesn't look better than Boehly and co at chelsea.

@mellyyoungestincharge15895 күн бұрын
@mojojojo6292"2-3 years with no improvement " before Erik Ten Hag took over United went 6 whole seasons trophy less, so that just debunks your argument of no improvement. "An actual regression in squad quality " which is true, but how is Erik Ten Hag to blame for Pogba arguably our best midfielder leaving on a free the summer he took over or matic leaving on a free or mata or Martial and shaw becoming injury prone all of a sudden e.t.c Erik Ten Hag opted to get De jong instead he got Casemiro and a half dead Eriksen, we replaced Ronaldo with Rasmus and Martial with Zirkzee, Sancho with Garnacho, all Erik Ten Hag needed was time, instead INEOS sacked him after 10 games. As far as the "results" you could clearly see in most matches this season under Erik Ten Hag we we're quite unlucky which is understandable when you invest in young raw players, and we have also been unlucky in some matches for instance the Brighton game, the west ham game, the bruno red card vs spurs. Pep is missing rodri and look how bad city's form are. Erik played majority of last season without a left footed LB, constantly changing CB partnerships due to injuries, lacked squad depth so much that we had academy players on the bench to make up the numbers yet when ever we lost or drew a game everyone turned a blind eye to all of that, and blamed him, but when he had around 80% of his squad back he went against the best team in the country and the best manager in the world and dominated in the final. Erik Ten Hag's sacking was a big MISTAKE, that will set United back for years to come. Brailsford and Jimratshit should not be making decisions at United, they know nothing about football.

Then they sacked 25% of the staff. Then they removed compensation for disabled fans, claiming that they had been "consulted" and that they "wanted to be treated like everyone else" - horseshit. Then they raised all ticket prices and removed discounts for seniors and kids. Thats not even on the sporting side. Keiran McKenna of The Price of Football said the staff feel like INEOS people are going round the offices "like school yard bullies". If you read anything about their handling of British cycling, you read about a toxic culture of fear. There's no longer any doubt in my mind: these lot are WAY worse than the Glazers

To find a new sporting direction after 6 months since an absolute shambles. United have destroyed my weekend 😡😤

I think the Appointment of Amorim is the reason Ashworth has gone. We looked better under Nistelrooy than in the Amorim. To hire a coach with a totally different way of playing to the players we have at our disposal. The coach was supposed to come in and get the best out of the players at his disposal. We don’t have Wingbacks so will need to spend, the Central Defenders aren’t good enough, the Wingers are now obsolete due to the new formation and bringing in Zirkzee seems a mistake. All these things would have been under Ashworths stewardship.
@051245 күн бұрын
I reckon this happened because Ruben Amorim’s team and club report matched the report, reported by Ten Hag. Then Mr Ratcliffe realised Ashworth was wrong to block Ten Hag’s needs and decided to sack him.

Not surprised the summer window was poor especially in selling the deadwood like maguire, Rashford, eriksen, casemiro, Antony and lindelof etc and giving bruno a new contract was idiotic so I can see why he was sacked
@yshivamkumar21355 күн бұрын
no club can go through that massive of a sellout. And also let in players. The signings that have been made are decent.
@rhyspowell94265 күн бұрын
How can you call it a bad window?? We signed some decent players at good price. De Ligt Mazrouai Yoro Ugarte Zirkzee And we shipped out plenty of deadwood: Sancho Mctominay VDB Varane AWB It's not Fifa where you can sell everyone and buy everyone in a single window. If he had another summer window I'm sure more deadwood would have been moved on and new decent signings would have come in. Compare it to any of the last 12 summer windows and it was far better than all of them.
@rhyspowell94265 күн бұрын
@@yshivamkumar2135 I have no idea what this guy is thinking. Like anyone is going to buy Antony and pay him £200k a week. Or pay for Rashford and give him £300k a week. Maguire didn't leave 2 years ago due to wages, those 2 won't either. The guy expects a bloody miracle. This summer window was one of the best for ages
@rupeoverlay31535 күн бұрын
It would be interesting to know whose decisions have been Ashworth’s recently. Was he involved in the summer signings (cos they were good) or was it him who pushed for ETH contract extension (which wasn’t good). Is it cos there’s no money for January? Or cos he’s identified nobody for January? Or maybe there’s disagreement over signing players specifically for Amorim’s system cos if he goes that might mean another rebuild for someone else. I don’t think it can be anything to do with the results. That would be weird imo

My guess is Ashworth was spearheading a more British approach to rebuilding United, whereas Berrada wants the European elite. I think a turning point was appointing Amorim: Ashworth probably wanted someone of the Potter/Southgate ilk whereas Berrada was clearly a fan of Amorim from his time at City. The question is: what now? We need a Sporting Director.

The comments by Romano says that he wasn't in agreement on Amorim. He wanted an English coach. So I think this aounds like the right decision. I think that Ashworth wasn't on board with the rest of the team. It was also weird for Ineos to install a full team before Berada was in the building. He's CEO, and should be him setting the team.

People who expected United to be fixed or completely transformed in months after more than a decade of mismanagement is ridiculous. I think this is a bit surprising that they the new infrastructure has twisted on a manager and DOF so quickly but better too soon than too late. Why bother sticking with failure. Dig in everyone, it’s going to be a season of ups and downs. Im here for a complete overhaul and I’m ok with it being a bit hard to watch. Also if theyve let someone go, they have his replacement ready.
@carlboss81054 күн бұрын
Complaints about the timing of Dan Ashworth's sacking at Manchester United miss the key point: he failed his probation period. Probation exists for precisely this reason-to evaluate whether someone is the right fit and can deliver on expectations within a specific timeframe. If Ashworth was found lacking in vision, execution, or alignment with the club’s strategy, United acted wisely by addressing the issue early rather than allowing problems to fester. The timing may seem abrupt, but it reflects a proactive approach. Delaying such decisions risks further disruption to the club’s progress. This isn’t about impatience or poor timing-it’s about holding leadership to the highest standards and making necessary changes for the greater good of the club.

Without knowing the facts, on the face of it seems like a rash decision. Is it misconduct because how many errors could he have made in 5 months. Keeping ten hag may be one but seems harsh to sack him so early
@Kilmoveebee5 күн бұрын
Maybe it has something to do with the fact we have not moved up the League despite having paid Millions to get rid of Ten Hag, maybe Ratcliffe is pissed off about it.

2 and a half year contract for amorim never make sense for me, but it becomes clear now, the reason they gave him 2 and half year is for them not losing too much money if they decide sack him. seeing how ruthless this decision is, now i'm afraid that they can easily sack amorim before the end of the season despite berrada or ineos highly rated him.

if I analyze the public info we have I say there were wars going on with the meetings of whether EtH should stay or go, I;m guessing Ashworth left because of all the disagreements happening. Sulking because he couldn't bring in Southgate. Don’t agree with many of the points made, and it seems the entire analysis was biased toward the British perspective. Dan Ashworth was never a strong advocate for appointing Amorim. In fact, Ashworth was a major proponent of retaining Erik ten Hag until last month, even lobbying for Gareth Southgate to become the next Manchester United manager. It's encouraging that Manchester United are now addressing their mistakes and prioritizing corrective actions. The news of Ashworth’s sacking is a positive step for the club, especially considering he spent more time on garden leave than actually contributing to his role. Ashworth has a laid-back attitude, which is reflected in his decision-making and overall performance at the club. The work he did well in the past was at a different level and intensity, which doesn't align with Manchester United’s standards. Recent decisions, such as the ticket pricing strategy, spending over £200 million on players, supporting Erik ten Hag only to sack him mid-season, cannot be considered sound decisions from a Sporting Director at a club like Manchester United. It's clear that Dan's time is up; it's probably for the best that he’s been let go.
