Here I am watching this vid again. I can't get enough of it. Both the song and the playing here.

I seriously cannot get enough of these videos of Dan's playing. I find myself watching them all, almost religiously, and yet every time I still experience this great feeling of admiration towards him and his playing, as well as an even greater feeling of inspiration to improve my writing ability and technique. I hope to only see more and more great things come out of this guys, and if Dan himself sees this, cheers man, my next hour of playing goes out to you.

OhSerious Same here. I find myself coming back to these videos over and over. For me, a big part of what makes him a great drummer is how clean and consistent he is with each hit. It's unreal.

I've been playing for 20+ years.... Even got "Voluntold" to play in the USAF Band in Basic Training.... Just started giving my son lessons- we simply refer to Mr.Carle as "La Machina"- The Machine. His rudiments and stick control are just unbelievablably clean and crisp.

Dan, idk if you will see this comment but we met in Toronto Canada some time ago off stage, and I crowd surfed onto stage and bowed to you!! Maybe that could ring a bell, but anyway, I want you to know I can jam this one on drums and I wish to upload a cover, if I'm not mistaken it could very well be the first!! Come back to Toronto Canada buddy. I fucking love your work, see you soon. Shawn!

Though the Shure SM57 is a tried and true snare mic, the EV RE-20 is giving it an awesome punch. Nicely done! I never would have thought to use it for snare.

BEAUTIFUL! Dan, mark my words, I'd love to get a cover up and make you proud someday. Don't think there is a cover yet but I can play it, just give me some time :)

Plays Tama, uses Pearl pedals. Plays Evans, uses Aquarian bass drum heads. Plays Promark, but uses Vic Firth bass drum beaters. And also, anyone else think it's weird to use EC2's for res heads? Anyway, great playing and one of my favorite songs, just pointing out that those are weird to me, lol.

Pavel Meyerovich they definitely look like they are vic firths, which is interesting regarding he uses pro mark sticks. or maybe this actually isn't his kit, as the video says he is endorsed by evans but the bass drum heads seem to be aquarian.

I'd like to hear the cymbals. Maybe. Just a little. Please...
@lukemcconaghy65459 жыл бұрын
I hear you, but I feel like the cymbals are of the least intrigue in this song, I think he's trying to accentuate the actual notes he's hitting and not just keeping the tempo..
