I think that’s the charm of dandadan, it’s goofy, funny, and not meant to take everything seriously, but it still knows when and how to keep itself grounded and real at times along with when to stop the comedy for that moment, which a lot of other anime’s don’t know how to be serious in a serious moment and make a joke right after

This episode was extremely tragic and sad 😭😭. I tried making a poem for her, it's not good tho : In shadowed halls where whispers dwell, A mother's love, a tragic spell. What still messes me up about this tragic backstory is what happens to the daughter. They took her to get their money back. The messed up part is that the "best" fate for her was being immediately killed for her organs. The other possibilities are way crueler and terrifying.

Knowing Dandadan and Kensuke Ushio's works before the anime release, I always believed that this scene would be impresive and it turned out to be perfect, he has a special gift for music adaptation specially on piano (Silent voice, Devilman crybaby etc.). I'm sure Yukinobu Tatsu is pleased with the adaptation and I'm happy for him.

The whole chapter i thought of my mother. She’s not dead or anything but, she was a single mother and we didn’t had a lot of money. in 2010 she gave me my favorite gift in the world, a 100 bucks nintendo ds light, for us that kinda stuff was out of reach, so when they bought it was a total surprise. After this episode i felt really empty, that one bday was truly how happiness has to feel, my mother father brother, pizza and a surprise gift that i could have never imagined. It really felt like i had it all… Sadly i had i really big fight with my mom and we never made peace, today i rarely see or talk to her… this episode reminded me of that one little innocent memory of my favorite day, and how my life was built over my troubled single mother who actually worked not for her dreams, but the dream of her child, child who does not talk to her anymore… Ofc we had a lot of problems that cannot be ignored, but this reminded me of everything my mother sacrificed to see me well.

But how shuto enomoto directed this episode was sublime showing you subtle hints of the edge of the rooftop on the background with city lights and her falling motion at the end on her last jump, then we hear the thud at the end
