One question I would love someone to ask one of the bulls at some point: Is there ANY scenario where the market goes down? Rates goes up, Greenhaus is bullish. Rates goes down, Greenhaus is bullish. Job market loose, Greenhaus is bullish. Job market gets tight, Greenhaus is bullish. Equities cheap. Greenhaus is bullish. Equities are expensive, Greenhaus is bullish. I can go on and on with any metric and these dudes are never anything than bullish. I do remember these guys back in 2000, I remember them from 2008. These guys also never see the downturn and they're the reason you get your head handed to you for 30-40% of your portfolio.

Or how about this for differentiation in positions: Bear Camp: Is NVDA going up several AMD market caps in a single day a feature of an efficient market or a dysfunctional market? Does any of this make sense? Where are the normal 15-20% down periods that would happen from time to time (1970-2008)? Bull Camp: Oh My God, the market is down 1% today just off ATHs! Our boy Jeremy Siegel is right, we need an emergency 75bps cut from the Fed stat! Else we're headed for oblivion!

All valid points, But being bearish can only be a temporary sentiment, over the long run everyone is a bull. The market will “crash”at some point 20% or more, its inevitable. But bears now are just early in a game currently run by the bulls.
@eikoGoldstein2 ай бұрын
@@Soulflame123 You've got it right. Over the long term, the market goes up. Winners invest regularly, whether it rains or shines, because the market will be higher in the future than it is now. The market-timers are focused on the short term, and this is a loser's game. For some reason, people can't accept this. Keep buying! It's our only hope if we wish to secure our family in retirement. Best wishes!

When the fed was raising rates, that's when you should be worried about the downturns. With rates going down now, it's time to be in the market. I agree with the Greenhaus, it's that simple. Find a trader like Alice harriet to handle your trade Became an investor , so you make twice as much as you trade. You’re going to work your ass off. Buy everything for cash. Put the max in your 401K, so you’re not paying any taxes on that money. Pay as much as you can on your house payment. Drive a basic car, when I was working I had a Honda Civic and rode my bicycle to work. Draw the money from your 401K so you pay no or as little possible in taxes. Greenhaus is just another talking head that knows the underlying issues but disregarding them. His comments are truly out of touch with the real consumer. His first belief that immigration will fix the productivity issue is idealistic at best. He ignores the reality of his so called resilient consumer. Most people just stepped down. Luxury shoppers moved to high mid class. Middle class has moved to Walmart and others. The poor are getting crushed. Inflation is strangling and his reference to the fed lower inflationary rate is ignoring the fact that the consumer still has to recover from the other 20%+ inflation over the years. The current PE is high, the forward PE has very little room to move up, and the Schiller PE is well over 30% premium. He’s just an example of someone riding the waves of optimism and profited. The market and economy is shaky and that’s why people are bullish.

Someone tell Dan Greenhaus when you can't find a job that will keep you at your income level that you had for the prior ten years, things begin to deteriorate quickly. The data is being missed right now, but continuing jobless claims decrease for two reasons, either those people are finding jobs - or . . . unemployment benefits run out and people no longer have that ability to keep looking for a "real job" and have to go wash dishes instead. .

Funny and sad at the same time how the orthodox economic monetarist school tends to look at the liabilities side and forget about the asset side. The endless nonsense talking point about the deficit is a clear demonstration. The deficit is just the saving of the private sector by the identity sectorial balance. Plot the deficit versus recession period and you’ll see that when the deficit gets too small you get a recession. The U.S. is not Greece. In Europe we gave up the fiscal space because the euro doesn’t not have the backing of a federal government. In essence every eu contries borrow in foreign currency. Please invite Stephany Kelton of Warren mosler to the podcast otherwise you’ll be stuck into the deficit nonsense.

sure the trend is great until you get clobbered. the data looks bad and a recession is coming - full time employment is down yoy, huge costs to being part time in terms of benefits, the unemployment is going up oct 4 unless they fudge the numbers in which case they will come out with really bad revisions after the election, credit card debt crazy high, delinquincies rising, rate cuts will do very little to help people paying debt on credit cards, 1 trillion a year in interest on the debt and rising.

Once again you guys talk about the consumer as though they are a single block of spending behavior when you know it's not the case. The macro data on the consumer says 'good health' because the 'haves' keep spending and the retired generation is spending like drunken sailors waiting to die. The macro data does not reflect the voice of the 'have nots' which yells out consumer pain. So, let's stop talking about a healthy consumer. Let's start talking about what event will force the 'haves' to lower their spending. The elders, for their role, will continue to spend because they are in their golden years and will continue to spend their golden dollars. We know the event, getting fired/laid off.
