I'm in that boat of people trying to play HSR in a F2P manner after Hoyo took all my money in Genshin and man, Dan Heng is AMAZING. I was actually surprised how strong he is. Also I'm enjoying this much more than Genshin. It's casual enough with enough lore and amazing character design that keeps me hooked (I'm so behind on Genshin now btw).

I'm also hooked (no pun intended) on HSR, but I don't think Genshin is worse in any way. It's just more chill because it's turn based, while you need an ounce of attention to play GI. Most Genshin players have just been playing so long that they need a new game to break up the monotomy. Also, players who play F2P in HSR are the same as F2P in any game. Many gachas are playable without spending, especially MiHoYo games (not you, HI3) because of how casual friendly they are. You spending money in Genshin is because you wanted the characters, not because you needed to swipe to progress lol. That said, every banner unit in HSR so far is much stronger than any F2P unit except maybe Tingyun. Of course a maxed out 4 star will be viable, but unless you fully invest into them, they aren't even close to Seele, Jing Yuan, or Silver Wolf in their respective roles. For example, I can take Seele to any fight without a quantum-weak enemy and she'd still be doing the most damage half the time. I couldn't expect a 4-star in a similar situation being as strong as that. Some units come close at E6, but you'd need to get lucky while pulling for the banner characters to E6 them. There's actually a video of someone whaling for Jing Yuan's LC (superimposition 5) only to throw it onto their E6 Herta, with fully maxed out traces and relics. She still does worse than my E0 Seele lol. That's unfair, though. Herta is trash tier, while Dan Heng is actually viable.

I think he is best paired with imaginary characters because of the imaginary weakness break causing the enemy to get slowed and its action delayed, which synergizes a lot with his kit. As of now, Welt is our only imaginary character but once Luocha and Yukong arrive Dan Heng mains will surely rejoice and have more fun playing him

dan heng is cracked even in 4 star version, i got like 2.4k att with 78 crit rate and 110 crit damage, shredding all bosses in SU and forgotten hall basically in lv50+ (MoC still cant full stars in the meanwhile)

I thought about a team using Dan Heng and Arlan together. Arlan is very SP efficient and will help you deal with larger groups of enemies. This leaves you with two open slots, one for Preservation/Abundance and the other for Harmony/Nihility. I don't like Arlan as a Hypercarry because his single target damage is not that good, so pairing him with a Hunt character that's also SP hungry feels appropriate

Definitely try it. I use Dan Heng,Arlan, Fire mc and then either Bronya (if the fight is not so serious) or Bailu/Natasha (if it’s a longer battle and heals are needed.) Arlan deals bonus damage with no skill point usage leaving Dan Heng can hit hard every time. Maybe not the most meta team but I don’t care 😊 It’s fun.

hey guys, if u dont have silver wolf and dont have sushang or yunqing u can use dan heng and pela "why pela man?" because pela talent is she gains more energy (6-8 i forgot sorry) when she attack to an enemy who has a debuff (dan heng slow is count as a debuff) and with silver wolf free LC that gains 8 more energy when the wearers hit the enemy with def reduction, so it means u can shredded enemy def with pela, so if u guys dont have bronya or welt u guys can use this team comps; dan heng (dps), pela (nihility), tingyun (support), and mc fire/gepard or maybe clara if u have it and the sec team comps is dan heng, pela, natasha/bailu, and mc fire/gepard or clara if u guys need healer. the point is dan heng and pela is unlimited ultimate for pela she can use her ult back in just 2 turns (with no energy regeneration rate) so i think build pela with dan heng is very good

I feel like he was made for a Fire Trailblazer/March/Dan Heng/Welt comp. Three of them slow down the enemy and a slow Fire MC will get his chance of using his Skill to protect all allies. As the time goes on things will only get easier with March throwing shields everywhere.

@@isaac7272 Sushang will probably always be stronger if I had to guess, her kits just better, and she doesn't require as specific a team comp as Dan heng for max value, all she needs is for enemies to be broken. But I need a wind dps and there's only Dan and Sampo. And my Dan is e5, otherwise i may have chanced Sampo cuz he's a much better breaker. If i had Seele I probably wouldn't build Dan at all.

I was lucky that I get Bronya when I first started HRS, she synergizes so well with Dan Heng and I was able to clear SU W6 with under-leveled characters + minimal investment. It's safe to say that I will still use him even if I get another Hunt character in the future.

I've been building my Dan Heng since day one and had to deal with my whale friends trying to convince me to get Seele (who I knew I wouldn't enjoy nor did I want her to begin with), but I stuck with my decision and my hard work naturally has paid off. I remember being so excited getting him to do 10k dmg, now he does 30k and I still have a long way to go! I'm glad some people are seeing how strong Dan Heng really can be, and that goes for any character as long as you put the time and effort into it.

I'm using Sushang with S2 Swordplay and DanHeng with S4 Subscribe for More! since I have no 5* and trust me, most of the time, don't need 5 turns to kill everything. Using either Asta, Tingyun or Pela depending of what I'm going to fight.

Arlan is also pretty good as a second dps since his skill uses hp instead which means dan heng use more skill points. And as for the last two slots, natasha and fire mc can fill in the role to regenerate more skill points

I was doing simulated universe and I got the blessing where if you kill someone you get a lot of energy. And that with e4 dan heng literally sweeps like non elite enemies. Skill ult since you killed them you get energy and you get to attack again and repeat

I got lucky and got a bunch of copies of Only Silence Remains while pulling for Jing Yuan’s LC. I have it on Dan Heng by default, but I’ve found that it’s especially good in Memory of Chaos since the party will always end up going against a single boss. The fact that the requirement is 2 or fewer enemies gives you more leeway as well. (And unrelated, but I was also very disappointed that March stopped Dan Heng from giving us CPR.)

Got my Dan to lv80, after a god tier drop crit dmg/crit rate body, 60k crits standard content, 110k crits in sim, paired with my welt and sw + a support or sustainer depending on the battle, its so fun playing by myself while forcing enemies to take extended vacation until death. My rating, E4/10 would take another turn after ult.

One of the best things about the HSR is that you can literally anything on any difficulty (except the Chaos because of obvious reasons) with the completely F2P team, without doing a single pull ever. Tier (S-C): Fire MC - A Tank, Dan - A DD, March - A Support DD, Nat - Support Healer. Of course Gepard, Seele/Yanq, Silver Wolf/Bronya and Bailu would be faster, better, hit harder and overall stronger BUT, those first 4 characters you get literally for beating the story to certain point. Those four free characters will never give you up and never gonna let you down. Getting back to the video topic - The only reasons I don't invest more in Dan (he's at 40 and I probably won't give him another lvlup in 2-3 years), are because a) Blade b) SSR Dan in 1.3 c) im not f2p :c

The new set seems good. Thing is he needs a ton of external supp to shine. The 4pc Musketeer i think is better than wind set because at high E he gains a full action forward tied to ult. As for the Ornament, the new set seems pretty dope. I use him with my tack tack abd bro deals like 18k crit per basic.

If you have no previous debuffs on enemy, and your ultimate meter is full, Is it better to skill into ult (bonus damage on ult, but "wasted" overcap on energy) or ult then skill (no initial bonus damage, but energy regained so closer to the next ult)?

Generally better to inflict Slow first with Skill then Ult, even if capped on energy. :)
