True song Dan Hill definitely can sing. I love this song I can relate to this song. I love Sly Stallone since Rocky and I'll always be a fan. I talked to my dad a Vietnam vet and he told me Sly fled that war and went to Canada and a lot of vets don't like him or First Blood for not servicing his country but I don't blame him hell war is terrible who in their right mind wants to be in a war? But thank all Vets and those fighting to protect the USA because you did something I couldn't do. I especially love how First Blood shows the plight of vets when they come home if the make it back home. They love you when you're fighting for the USA but so many vets have a hard time getting jobs and readjusting to civilian life. War is hell but thank you USA military

+PrinceCharming25 They set the direction with Arnold pretty much, spawning trigger happy films like Rambo, Cobra, Commando you name it. :) Golden times though, and to think that Mr Stallone wrote most of the first rocky movies too is phenomenal. He co wrote Rambo first blood and Rambo 2 was mostly his handwriting. Talented fellow for sure. These sound tracks from the era when musicians still had to really be musicians are golden.

John rambos character in the movie brings a very serious point up, there are thousands of ex service men and women who have come back from man made war's and lied too by there government's, they have come back from these hell hole's with PTSD and suffer with those images every day, as John said they drew first blood.

First Blood would have been much more of a legendary movie if they never made the sequels and copied the novel much more. It's such a shame that we never hear the story of the sheriff (which was a Korean war veteran).

I accept your point. The problem though would have been that no big name actor would have taken the Rambo part if it was faithful to the novel and they might not have been able to get the finance without a big name lead. Stallone understood that when the script was changed to make the character more sympathetic. We also wouldn't have gotten the Goldsmith theme for the character.
