Were I a ref, the Dan Hurley or Bruce Pearls of the world would never last a 40 minute game!
@Ryan_Rants5 күн бұрын
The thing is though, the opposite often happens. Pearly Bruce's teams get away with murder and they usually get all the calls. I have seen Rick Barnes at Tennessee all bird eyed, zombie looking get nose to nose with an official during a dead ball and they are just nodding their heads and talking to him. Meanwhile, other coaches step two inches outside the coaching box and it is an automatic technical. There is definitely an art to working officials.
@lukeryan87294 күн бұрын
@@Ryan_Rants well sometimes it helps coaches like that because the refs are scared to call fouls. UConn kept fouling Illinois last year but they didn't call many. 2 years ago UConn was called for 1 foul in a 25 minute span vs. Miami. After that loss though, they only lost one more time the entire season. Seton Hall eventually began getting called for the contact, they stopped doing it, and ended up 25-12 , no tourney. Memphis is a good team but the ref's won the game for them, like the ref's did for Duke a lot. Does't excuse Hurley's behavior though, he needs to clean it up.
